No, you can crack off the ring. JB weld is strong but not that strong. If you want strong, use contact cement. But it'll never be able to be removed (and serviced)
@@AnamorphicLenses If you dont fix the dent on the thread you cant unscrew the top of the lens, the lens is unserviceable anyway until you repair the dent.
going to try this on a macro lens which has a front barrel that's been clouted front the front and pushed backward, if i cant fix by pressing it forward, ill bond a 58-62mm ring in to it :)
I was stoked to see this as i have a canon 85mm 1.2 L lens and then I saw the jb weld and said hell no 😂 I cant do this to an L lens but this is good for a cheaper lens
