Fix Error Message Non-System Disk or Disk Error replace and strike any key when ready 

Thank you I had no idea what I was doing but I opened up the PC and unplugged and plugged those cables back one. It worked!!!! Thank you 😅

I had this problem with an HP Proliant Micro Server Gen 8 and my fix is this: 1. shut down the machine 2. unplug the power cable 3. wait 10 seconds 4. plug the cable back in 5. boot the machine Not a clue why I got the error or why this fixed it, but it did!

Can't reinstall the OS when the PC won't boot on any device.

Although poor filming and explaining, it did show me how to fix this error. So thank you! It turns out I had a loose cable connection to my hard drive!

To everyone who follows the above clip video and still can't solve your non-system problem (My personal opinion) In my case, it come from turn on the computer for a long time (I'm not sure if this problem came from this) without turning off my PC for about 5-6 days or even shutting down the computer and forgot to unplug it for a long time as well. Therefore, at this point, I guess the power supply is overheated. So I tried to unplug the main power supply for 1 hour or more. And it working, my PC is running normally again. At least, you should try once if you don't really don't understand how to fix it before send your PC to computer repair technician. Sorry if my grammar really hard to understand I just try to share my method to you guys.

I got this problem once I plugged in my brand new second hard drive, the reason: My main, old hard drive for some reason was named "Disk 4" whilst my new was "Disk 1", so the PC looked for windows on the new hard drive instead of the old one. I picked the old one in the BIOS startup order and it all works now.

the basic trouble shooting is okay, the message 'initializing and establishing link' is talking about the network card (look up PXE) ,not the hard disk. what the message was saying was in fact the network cable was unplugged. SATA does not error with this message.

How do you fix the exact same problem on a HP Elitebook 6930p laptop? Here's the problem. Sometimes, the Intel(R) Boot Agent shows up when I try booting it after a hard disk test and then the Non-System disk error shows up. The hard drive light is glowing in cyan and when it says the non-system disk error it dims out. I tried disassembling the PC, taking off the hard drive and putting it back on. I have tried running the hard disk test and it didn't find the hard disk. I would like to fix my old laptop because I want to recover my old files. Any ideas how to do it?

I have just seen this video but i don't had the flash drive , as i had a multiple harddisk i try to swap the cable by thinking that it would be change and after i fixed and starting as normal

Didn't work for me. I had to change CMOS battery to get it to work though.

Samee probleem, i added my new hard drive and my PC is finding the OS in the new drive. I just fixed it in the bios set up, put thee old drive 1st in boot order.
