Thank you for pointing out that this noise comes from the hood because I had no idea where it was coming from, but I got new rubber stoppers, tried tape, greased latches, nothing helped much in the long term. Then I came across an article by Jiffylube and realized that basically any type of squeak comes from a lack of ADEQUATE lubrication. So I finally found a permanent solution that fixes it entirely: Spray some WD40 on the hood latches. Its that simple. To be clear there are 3 hood latches and I just sprayed the left and right ones. It is such a shame that such a tiny little fix couldve saved me years of agony with this noise
Excellent find! Love the simple screw up too, that was kinda funny. We've all done it before, left tools or rags or something else under the hood and couldn't figure out why we have a new problem, only to discover how much of a dumb-ass we are. LOL By the way... HOLY AWESOME PORSCHE BATMAN!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU !!! That exact noise has been driving me nuts in my 2010 G55 AMG! I oiled hinges, greased suspension and exhaust mounts, retorqued front bumper and skid plates, and still it haunted me. Your solution worked perfectly!

Thank you for taking the time with this video, our G63 has been making the exact same noise for the past few weeks and it has been driving me NUTZ.I was shocked to hear the SAME noise in your video so I followed your procedure but unfortunately still had some noise....Digging a bit further I added one step and that is greasing the receivers and the latches on the outsides of the hood. It quelled the noise 110%. I used a high quality Marine grease, not too much either so its not a mess.

Thanks for the video, I was looking to find the source of this noice since a couple of weeks 🧐🤔 I took the G63 to MB service here in Dubai for nothing , they told me that is was probably the suspension …. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️, I told them that it was not possible coming from the suspension, They insisted - but they forgot that I know the MG Geländeeagen very well, from having worked and services it in the Swiss Army 😉😂😂 but never ever had that noice problem in the past
Thanks man my g500 was making same noise, u have to grease the area time to time. Soon the rubber insulators around the doors will start making noises too...

Please share your venmo or paypal details so I can send you a tip. This just saved me 1000s of dollars on my 2013 G63! I used 4 strips on 3M VHB on each side, and WD-40'd the latches and hinges. I was convinced my suspension was going. Was about to throw money at my mechanic, and try to re-grease the front swivel bearings myself.
I have seen a fix where you slightly loosen the striker plate enough for to move with force but not slack, get in the back, slam the door then use a drift to align the wedge all the way into the recess. Then open the door and fully tighten the Allen bolts. Lube and listen. : )
Max, this was great! It fixed the noise BUT after driving for a while, the engine heat melts the tape and it comes off. What is a better alternative? Thank you!
Karo Jerejyan hey, best way is to try adjusting hood stoppers on each side but it’s not always easy to do and does not always help. Need to find some heat resistant adhesive, yep.
