Had this issue on a G55, mechanism is a bit different but video was still helpful to locate the system! I used a brakes cleaner to remove the previous oil on the system and then oiled it again multiple times with sunroof on and off and it seems to work now! I still have an issue with the sunroof the position when the sunroof is closed but you want it to be up doesn’t work, I hear the engine running infinitely.
Thank you for the video!! My 2012 G550 had the exact same issue. I used some needle nose pliers to spread the white plastic pipe/tube retainer so that it clipped back in place and then tightly zip-tied the fixture around the tube. The rubber hose to the metal pipe section already had a hose clamp fixed to it. This whole process was super easy to do - 5 minutes tops. My sunroof now operates like new. I believe that if were left in the previous condition, something would have eventually broken. Either the motor would have burned out due to the excessive load or the cable.
