Just in case anyone doesn’t know this. You might need a 3.5mm headphone splitter for some pcs. If you’re pc isn’t detecting a microphone with your headset it’s probably because your pc has to 3.5mm inputs one for headphones and one for mic. If this is the case for you go and buy the headphone splitter and you’ll be good to go.

The one port with the headset+mic icon used to work with earphones alone(one jack carried both mic input and sound input) till the day I used a headset that has separate jacks. Now when I plug in earphones I have to select whether it's mic or headset but not both simultaneously

I have a headset microphone (with jack plug and headset adapter) that is not plugged in or when I'm talking to a friend, they hear me best when I talk into my headset with sound coming out. The problem I'm having with my mic is that my pc isn't using my headset's mic for speaking it instead uses the mic installed into the pc, which is called microphone array I think but that's all, there's no other input devices other than array. There's 2 more inputs called stereo mix and Headset mic which is actually an oculus virtual audio device, but when I tried using those 2 the sound bar doesn't move when I talk. Can someone explain why this is happening?

@@Zalinczvka I had to use a Jack to USB adaptor.... sadly that inactivates the option for Windows spatial sound, but since I only use it for work, it's fine to me. Hope it works for you as well :)
