Fix Keyboard Not Working After Windows Update in Windows 10/8/7 [2024 Tutorial] 

Hello mate I have try every single of your astuce and I still wonder why my keyboard still doesn't work. I was pissed about it so I have fully restore the computer with a complete reboot . Still after going back to 0 the keyboard doesn't want to work. I really dont know what to do now. Could you please give me another tip to try cause I'm quite desperate I'm looking every video on RU-vid to find a solution

After win10 updates in jan 2020, keyboard ps2 driver in device manager is missing on lenovo ideapad 330. I tried different method And the keyboard is still not working. Still i have to do: win restore, bios update... and format

So grateful! You saved me! TY This latest Windows 10 update in May 2020 gave me(and a lot of others) the “blue screen of death” where you couldn’t boot up. I fixed that by finally hitting my Windows key plus “I” and got a sign in screen but couldn’t use my regular onboard laptop keyboard. By the way, that latest problematic update is KB4556799 on May 15, 2020. UGH

How are you supposed to click anything if nothing is working after the update.

Ik this is kinda late but for the people who are trying to find answers, the solution which worked for me is that you have to drain your laptop/pc's full power then let it shut down automatically and try to start it until the point where it won't start(Draining the complete battery even the remaining 5%), now plug in the charger and enjoy!!!

You will need an external KB to resolve, either a standard desktop PC K/B or a multi-media type mini portable wireless K/B used with streaming devices will work as well.

For me my keyboard works perfectly in file explorer, run command etc but it doesnt work in anytjig else (example web browsers, search bar, wifi password bar, like wtf help pls someone

@TechFixIT and perhaps to other people reading this: Question (and some info/backstory up front too :p); I fracked up my nice expensive keyboard by spilling a whole glass of red wine over it, but ok,was expcted that even after drying and cleaning it would act strange. I bought a new keyboard (and already searched on google/youtube and manufufacturers site for info), but it dosen't work. It's USB plug and play,and it just doesn't get any response no matter which usb i put it in (old keyboard was also usb btw). I tried a few things already,but to save some time: do you think it's same problem (and solution) found here?

Why update when the updates are always screwy? The past two have been horrible and I have had to literally wipe my system and reinstall everything when none of the helpful hints worked. I’ve done everything in this video and more. Looks like I’ll have to wipe and reinstall. Again.

I would recommend turning on the on screen keyboard then downloading the offical media creation tool to install a fresh copy of windows. it's like resetting, but you won't get any errors. (be sure to backup important files)

Thank you! After Windows update, some Thinkpad keyboard keys gave the wrong output. For example, hitting Shift-2 would give a double quote instead of an at-sign (@). Now it is working fine.

Applied as many and none seem to be working. If go to update driver it shows the message 'windows has determined the best driver is already installed'. Even the keyboard troubleshooting show the message nothing need to install as all work fine. So with all this got that the issue possibly could be due to windows incorrectly mapping the keyboard post running the july 21, 2020-KB4562900 cumulative update review for .NET Framework. Some suggest removing the kbdcass in the registry.

I sure wish this worked for me, my PC did a Windows update overnight last night, and it has killed my keyboard and mouse both. I have rebooted I have tried going into safe mode I have even gone into diagnostic mode and tried to get into the settings to uninstall latest quality updates. It's rejecting even my Microsoft password to authenticate to allow me to remove the update even though I know it's correct. I don't know what else to do or how to get back into my computer

okay okay okaaaaaaaaaaaay. i dont know what have just happened, but I was having problem with some of the keys and after trying the solution #2 (u can see it worked since i finally can use numbers) it didn't work at first so i started to hit the key really hard without restarting the laptop yet after clicking run, all the dysfunctional keys started to work! thank you so much i guess! keep it up! to me your video was the one that helped so you've gotten a new follower yay!
