What to do if your external monitors randomly flicker throughout the day.
1. Check to make sure cables are plugged in all the way.
2. Check cable compatibility.
3. Check for any electrostatic interference.
4. Install driver updates for computer/dock.
5. Install monitor specific drivers.
6. Make the refresh rates on both monitors the same.
7. Apply registry fix:
Open Registry Editor and go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000"
Then right click add DWORD DPMstDscDisable and set the value to 2.
8. If none of this work may need to replace dock or monitor.
In our organization we use Dell Latitudes with Dell WD19 docking station.

If none of the steps in the video work, then you may need a new docking station or monitor.

Thank you, the last step did the trick for me. I tried several steps by searching online, but none of them worked until I found this one.

My monitor flickers and goes dark when the screen isn't that bright?

All this stuff in the video is obvious stuff to do, which I already did. I am using a external monitor with my new labtop via HDMI and it keeps flickering. Never had this issue on my older labtop. Makes zero sense. I updated the graphics drivers on the labtop and its still doing it...
