Downgrade monitor bitrate to 8-or 6bit in the gpu driver, and turn off hardveracceleration in the webbrowser what you use. It not mentioned in the video, but it was my solution. Maybe helpful for someone.
The flickering is often caused by the camera frequency setting. Windows 10 had a setting for changing the frequency from 60 Hz to 50 Hz, but In Windows 11, I can't find it anywhere. It is maddening.
Latest issue is that the screen goes black with the deskop appearing now and again, can't do anything apart from loading task manager, safe mode has the same issue
the only thing that works with me is uninstalling the video driver in device manager and that stop the flickering until windows auto--update the driver again.
This video was great. It gave me 3 main reasons why my HP screen could be flickering. Shutting down the movements built into my background screen wasn’t the answer but still great advice easily explained. I then tried major cause #2, recently installed updates by Microsoft Deleted 4 non essential updates and sure enough my flickering annoying screen is back to as good as new. Thank you for the very easily understood video on this issue. Saved me an expensive trip to the PC repair store!
The problem with mine is if I'm using RU-vid or on any site after 20 mins it starts to glitch or flickers then it goes to a black screen then I move my cursor and it goes back to normal and my cursor is blurry
I went through all scenarios, changing , roll backs, disabling animation features, uninstalling all drivers to leave MS generic driver, updated to most recent drivers, resetting to factory settings. Turns out that sometimes upgrading the system but not the monitor is the problem. I know a bit drastic but the last choice I had was to change the monitor, et voilà flickering gone. So I guess, in a way it was down to graphics , but not due to operating system.
@@borneorinsun7468 Device Manger, click on ‘Monitors’ and then ‘Integrated Monitor’ and update driver, either search automatically for drivers and if windows doesn’t have an update, click ‘Browse my computer for drivers’ and then next. After restart your PC.
What can I do if I am unable to click on anything on the desktop and taskbar? This tutorial is not helpful for me... my screen is flickering and you say click settings but I can't click anything because there is a blank screen... I am able to bring up the Task Manager pressing Ctrl Alt Delete and the Task Manager is not flickering but I can't do anything beyond that. Win + R does not bring up anything and Win + X does not bring up anything...
@@blackroach00 no, nothing worked... I ended up having to reset the computer (but not wipe the memory)... What I realized after resetting the computer was that an app I downloaded may have caused the flashing... do you have Windows 11? When I turned on my computer for the 1st time, I installed something that made the taskbar go back to how it looks in Windows 10... so that may have messed up something and made the taskbar unable to be visible... perhaps you also installed this "upgrade..." something to consider.
What can be the reason why win11 sometimes throws me into another browser window example when i'm watching RU-vid. Sometimes i also fly out of the game (at full screen) directly into the desktop while same time some window/box just flashes very fast (0,1sec) on the screen. Very annoying.
All of these doesn't work for me. I'm running SFC & DISM hoping that will fix the screen flickering. I change my cable from HDMI to VGA and it stopped the non-stop flickering of my monitor for a while but it's like a downgrade for me because I can only use 60hz.
Windows Update decided to update while I was asleep. When I got up, it was at login screen. I logged in, and it started flashing white, and my cursor had the spinning thing. I could not click on anything. I went into task manager, which was fine, but every second, when the rest of the screen was flashing, it would defocus task manager. I could try to start a new task, but I could only type a couple of characters before the rest of the screen flashed and the text I was typing was selected. After going into the recovery options, which I could not get to by holding shift and pressing restart (The two times I tried that, the PC started up, but both monitors just said they were not connected to anything), so I had to hold power button in, let it start to restart and then hold power button in again to eventually get me there (Why the hell did Windows ever get rid of the option to just press F8 for boot options!?!?) I was able to get to the system restore, and restored to a point just before the Windows Update. It works like a charm, now!
Ok so having the same problem. You just kept pressing power? I’m trying to do the same thing and can’t access the system restore with any of the F keys
Thank you for providing solutions. I tried your suggestions and none of them worked for me, but I didn't give up! Here's what worked for me: I downloaded the latest Graphics driver corresponding with my PC, restarted my computer and IT WORKED.
I don't think you'll help me it's been like this on the screen for a few months because my brother keeps hitting my screen so it hit the bottom of the screen and now it keeps showing me such a break with black and white stripes and even now my mouse is a bit stuck
Well structured Video, very useful, not sure if the problem is with my monitor or with PC/ windows 11 but it only happens on the 1 monitor, not the other.
What's weird for me is it's only 1 program that started doing this. And that program is my purpose for this machine...video editing.... Everything else, including even a game work fine.

I have windows 11 everything is updated, the graphics processor is updated, the screen flickers when I am looking at task manager. When I uninstall the updated Graphics driver back to the basic driver the flickering stops but then Photoshop says I have an incompatible graphics processor and stops working correctly. ANy idea how to fix this?
I have no idea what's wrong with my laptop but everything when i plugged in my charger the display will start to flicker and flicker faster. But it slows then and eventually stop when the charger is plugged out. It wasn't like this before can anyone please advise what i should do tried doing all of steps in the video but it doesn't work
I don't understand how I know which recently installed app is causing the flickering problem so that I can uninstall it. I took out X-Box because I have no need or desire for X-Box. It seems better, but not completely fixed.
anyone know why every once in a while on windows 11 I'll see random parts of the screen (usually on chrome) flicker black for a second? it's not extremely common or noticeable but I'm just wondering
itll only get worse a few days ago i had minor screen flickers only on chrome and then later it was on all apps and now its always flickering alot on all apps
@@--Geo-- apparently its because of something with the display or graphics drivers i tried updating my graphics driver and while it was updating the flickering stopped but started again after the update was finished. and i recently noticed that the screen flickering wasnt happening at the very bottom of the screen for what thats worth
@@aj0t022 Yeah, it's probably something with the drivers. I installed Windows 10 and it didn't do the flickering anymore. I installed Windows 11 back. Maybe the problem will be solved.

I've been trying to sort my laptop out for over a month and nothing seems to work, my screen is flickering and its triggered when I turn my brightness up. i don't have the money to pay for someone to help and i don't know what to do.
If You have a Logitech Key board,,, they have Unifying Software on their support Page... You will have to download it and follow the instruction or watch a RU-vid Video.. It will ask you to turn Your Mouse and Keyboard off one at a time when it starts up to pair them... but If you dont have an ON OFF button on Your Keyboard you can always take your Batteries our 2 times Quickly during the Process and it will work that way was well
Hey Steven,,,, I had the same issue as You... I just tried turning off my Hardware Accelerator on Chrome and Edge and then Relaunched and it worked... I also followed the 2 Steps at the 3:10 mark on this Video about the Display settings for the Background Pic... I took it off Slide Show and just put a Picture instead and Rebooted before I shut off the Hardware Accelerator in my browser...
non of those tips worked just got this computer all the apps are listed as just installed, may have to take it back to the dealer, if I can't resolve the issue

My biggest issue started when my windows 7 had water damage and I had to change to Windows 11 but even though windows 7 has water damage it still works better damaged than windows 11. Maybe the elite can make a vaccine for Windows 11 so it dies suddenly.
