This is the Cars lol. Ric ocasek was the Cars man. You could have replaced anyone in the Cars but (Ric Ocasek) and they would have sounded the same. Close your eyes and listen. Sounds like the cars going full throttle!! And all his Solo albums are killer! The cars were just some commercial band that anyone could cover. Catchy tunes! When the music got real then it was Ric Ocasek recording his best stuff! I am so glad they broke up. Only then did Ric Ocaseks real talent get to come out! His Solo stuff might not have been the same as far as radio play. It sucked for the teeny boppers but was great for the rest of us!!
The Cars are HOF. But you are right in that Rick's solo work was very underrated and when it was rocking it was as raw as the early Cars Music. Fix On You is one of my faves.
