I have the older version of this machine and seeing the constant "clean wand" message made me think I would have to buy a new machine. This has fixed it, thank you so much ❤
That’s great, I also thought i would have to replace mine. As an update I mix the descaler with very hot water to make it clean more effectively. BTW I’ve seen some comments about only using bottle water to make coffee, but bottle water still leaves mineral residues
The normal descaling mode does actually descale and clean both the wand and coffee spout. The cleaning is for the wand only. What people don’t realise is that these creatista machines need the steam wand cleaning daily after use and it says in the manual to do this you run a steaming cycle but using water not milk. Doing this daily after use stops the cleaning light issue. A lot of people seem to miss this as they just don’t read the manual and then run into the clean light issue due to lack of daily maintenance.
Hi Paul thank you so much for this video. By using it we were able to get our Nespresso machine working. More importantly, it’s extremely clever that you’ve identified a minor design flaw in the machine. That is, the Descaling Process works through the Coffee wand and not the Steam Wand, thereby allowing Lime scale to build up in the Steam wand too.
Will give this a go - thanks so much Paul! Been annoying having the light come on all the time - I even got a new steam wand from Nespresso and it's still happening, so will give this a go and see how we go. 😊🙏🏻
I am gonna give this a try as mine starts frothing and then stops abruptly. I have done the cleaning according to their instructions many times but to no avail. Thanks heaps.
once a week i remove wand tip and leave over night in a solution of one tsp of citric acid (used for sourness in foods) to half a mug of boiling water. then empty the cup and stand in boiling water for five (to remove the sourness). machines is three years old and still froths like new. the tips clog over time with "milk scale" preventing proper frothing.
Hi Paul, thanks for your video. What else could I do if the 'clean' light flashes on after the first steam after cleaning (and descaling), mind you, I steamed water straight after. It is so bizarre!
Hi Eleen, use hot water to make up descaling solution, keep washing out the steam wand by repeatedly pressing steam clean, then use clean water to rinse
