My laptop started showing BSOD since early last week. After BSOD, none of the hard drives were detected. I thought my trusty laptop was nearing its end and almost made plans to replace it. The IT technician did not know what was wrong with it as it happened only in the mornings. This has again mysteriously stopped since last 2-3 days.
I recommend you to check the name of the sys file it shows during the BSOD message. If the sys file is related to crowdstrike, then you might be a victim of the same issue as discussed in this video. Otherwise, please share the message as a comment so I can take a look. Aniket

Hi, I am IT Enginner of a small company with just 35-50 Desktops, I do daily backup off users Data or Profile(with Outlook), now you are saying to restore.. What to restore..? and where Or you mean to tell to restore windows from backup...? or from restore point...? I tried restore point, from week ago but its of no use, not booting. And Please specify the Antivirus that downloads the defination from crowdstrike...? I also have antivirus installed on more than 700+ host, I check almost more than 280 Host for the daid folder but its not located at said location. (OS Win10-11 X64 Fully Updated), I think microsoft is hiding the fact that the updates of antivirus was from microsoft defender... and thats only I can see as impact was. Because I first notice to the institue where students where using microsoft surface with 11 on it where only Defender was present. And there also the issue started from Jun 20th 2024. So Impact was not from 19th July. Its from past 1 month. But Impact of it was seen in max from 20th or 19th July. As an Small IT Enginner, I dont see any one will be taking baremetal backup of desktop os on daily basis... You may be, or you are suggesting to do so, but practically not possible. Any ways please tell specify what you are willing us to practice on daily basis. Suppose I also want to do, How will i as my office staff works on shift and pc's are on for almost 24 hours so taking backups means need to make them stop work daily for couple of hours.

Crowdstrike is an EDR (kind of an antivirus). An EDR has access to the kernel level memory of an OS. Hence, when crowdstrike driver had an issue, it impacted the heart of the operating system, hence the global heart attack, aka, BSOD
Updates that are not specified are more dangerous.. I have notice the issue from 20th June 2024 from Medical College. But was not able to resolve, even after fresh install. As we install and it gets update. And its get crashed. They are telling because of "Crowdstrike" can any one tell me which antivirus program any one using that is provided from Crowdstrike..? I am sure without googling no one will be able to specify. You may check it.
We can learn many things from this incident, but the most important is that Microsoft Windows is a hopelessly flawed operating system. There will never be a secure version of this product because is would put their security partners like CrowdStrike out of business. What will it take for IT leaders to finally realize the only way to prevent the next possibly catastrophic incident is to stop using Microsoft Windows?
How do you boot into recovery in a VM farm? there are thousands of windows instance on the farm supposed to let users to remote in, it sounds impossible to have support team to remove the sys file one by one 🤷♀
you need to restore the safe mode. There are some videos in the youtube, stating how to restore the safe mode function. I have found some commands to restore the safe mode, as some user who had installed Crowdstrike had faced blue screen on last Friday. I will be trying out the commands on Monday morning, if it works, I will share with you.
Crowdstrike issued a statement and some offical fixes on their website. Just google 'crowdstrike statement on falcon content' and you should find it. Was sent out a few hours ago now....won't help everyone..but may help some depending on your level of access to your windows machine(s). Some may require ADMIN rights.

They should have done more thorough testing before sending out an update. In my opinion the bigger issue is the way crowdstrike has been integrated globally, that a single update can cause the entire platform to fall like a palace of cards.

No. No update gets installed on any computer system without users knowledge. Please tell people to not allow your computers or mobile phones to auto update. You can control that from settings.
