BRO! you saved me! This video and your first video on this console were my guide and mirrored my problems exactly! My retimer chip originally was visibly damaged so I was confident in starting there, but I was completely stumped until this one! So stoked to fix my console and I owe it all to you! @@_mylastname I am guessing 4K will not work, but I think because removing the IC and using the bypass will not let the HDMI circuit enable 4K - Native 1080p should still work though
@@_mylastname your hdmi retimer is bad or not seated properly. I removed a working esd booster for no reason while the problem was my retimer. Did the bypass and 4k works
@@don4techy I parted that console out. I had to give up..Ive done a bunch since so I almost can't remember this one, bit I believe the retimer was good(no shorts around it anyway).. heck, maybe it was.. I'll pay more attention now that I know a bit more
How did you figure out where those traces go? I loved your reaction seeing that work . I've been having this issue and have sooooo many hours into mine..I think I have to try this, just to see if it works, because I've tried everything else... Can we still not get these chips?

Does anyone know if I can get a replacement C24 (as pictured at 2:57 mark) capacitor from an Xbox One S board? As I don't have any Xbox Series X donor boards.
Great Fix! Question what does the console loose by going with the bypass instead of replacing the chip? I've been hunting for a ESD Diode Pack NFD Chip for weeks to help a friend repair his series X.
Nfd chip? Could be a short in the chip. I just fixed the same isseu. 😅was a tedius process to replace the chip.... but it works now 3 weeks later still works good :😊
I did this on mine, after my old port repair failed. Changed the retimer, no image..I tried this and now my console won't turn on 😔 the line where you have 3 connections,(connected to the small cap(C1) in the middle) is grounded WHERE THAT WHITE PAINT DOT IS. so it's grounding everything it touches.. Man I can't believe they won't release these parts. UPDATE! I found that the line where that white paint is, is pin 19 and on the other side of the board, my trace repair for pin 19 had a scratch next to it and solder had attached and caused 19 to go ground..I can't believe I found that issue . Now to repair AGAIN, what was a 19 PADS repair and redo this bypass to see if it'll work. Whew!! This stuff is nuts!!
This should only be done for testing purposes. I never class this as a repair and there is a reason why I buy every xbox one x donor board I can find so I can source these esd as they are not available to buy from supplier.
My only question is could this give you issues later on cause a diode is a one way valve. I mean I like to think engineers put this stuff there for a reason.
indeed , my best advice if doing this bypass is to tell your customer to never hot plug the hdmi cable ie make sure its plugged in before powering the console never plug or unplug it while powered
I just tried this today on a Series X cause I found anomalies in the diode mode readings on the hdmi port pins but still this didn't solve my issue the xbox still turns on for maybe 2 seconds and then turns off.
Got one of these my self today pad were toast under u21 after coke was split into the console , going to follow this bypass but that 5 pin voltage reg "U82" next to U21 is also gone , any chance you have a part number or what donner board you took it from
@@jet613 Any chance you could link that ? looking at the datasheet for the 2065DBVR there doesn't seem to be a BGA pin compatible version so would need to be deadbug'd on - Sorry forgot about U82 and was thinking about U21 you are correct.
