Fix your Bulgarian Split Squats!

Here’s a quick little adjustment you can do to emphasize different parts of your lower body when performing the Bulgarian split squat.
A narrow stance (closer foot position to the bench) emphasizes more of your quads. While a wider stance (further foot position from the bench) emphasizes your glutes. And for even more glute activation, tilt your body forward.

i love these sO MUCHHH they’re an absolute burner but when you do them in almost every single leg day, the reps and weight go up a bit and it’s as if I were in my first leg day ever😭

To get a better Quad burn don't do a lockout on the top to keep tension on that muscle.

It will get better really quickly, I guarantee it! Even though it will feel impossible the first few times. But I swear in the second month (I only do them once a week) It's like a world of a difference

This exercise is effective and all, but I find it very hard to stay in balance

You could either do it without dumbells and hold onto something or you could grab one dumbell in the opposite hand compared to your leg on the ground and hold onto something for stability. Eventually you could progress to holding onto something with less and less fingers till you manage balance on your own.

I still do these body weight because sometimes I still lack control, but I like mixing my exercises between body weight and some heavyweight. I'll do leg presses, hip thrusts and squats heavy.

Another way to put more emphasis on the activated leg is to use something lower than a bench. A standard bench is too high for most people.

For glutes and hamstrings I just take a bar and put it in a low bar position like a squat on my back and do some lean forward lunges

If you are getting too much of one muscle, try to press from the midfoot instead of toes or heels

Ummm...i don't have enough time for everything so sometimes i just do my warm up and workout then usually my parents are ready do leave the gym so i just have to go with them and do my burnout at home or maybe i finish my workout at home and last my stretches. For recovery do the stretches (leg focus stretches) then drink your protein shake with a small or regular meal. Good amount of sleep and do it all over again. That's just me you do you.

It's an outdated rule, people used to believe it's right, but actually passing knees in front of toes makes no difference in gains

I’m a physical therapy student and I’m here to say it depends! If you are experiencing knee pain on the front of your knee or specifically above and/or below your knee cap, then excess knee over toe squatting could aggravate your symptoms IF your symptoms are really irritable or your knees translate over your toes to a degree that’s more than your quads could handle. However, if you have relatively healthy knees and you do so within your capacity, knees over toes is fine! Hope this helps!

If your friend's knees are hurting with Bulgarians it's due to a weakness in the knees, kneesovertoes guy has a lot of videos to help with that

Nobody needs that fancy stuff, just regular deep squats with a bar high on your neck, is everything you need! But this "bulgarian" bullshit (why bulgarian...?) is now a fashion that makes absolutely no sense. But it seems that people always believe in some "secret, very special" exercises. Basics are just too boring, ridiculous! 😅
