We almost bought a new printer because it won't pull the paper out to print anymore! Glad I saw this vid and went to check on the paper tray. Turns out, a small roll of paper was stuck inside causing the problem. Problem solved! Thanks!

thanks to this video I was able to fix my printer. I had a crystal bracelet that fell between the rollers and wouldn't pull paper to print. I got it out and now I got a shit ton to print now. lol thanks for sharing

My paper was going into the printer crooked and did everything you said and finally I found the roller that was causing the problem. I had to lift up my printer and pull the photo tray out and clean those roller under the tray and finally my paper tray worked. Yeah!

I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME I read this comment and thought it was hilarious then I tried to do as they did in the video as I was desperate to make it work again. So I turned the printer to find out that MY ERASER was in it all this time too!! I have been looking for it for more than a week!! It's actually weird cause I have been using the printer all this time too!! Poor printer suffered a lot😂
Just watched this video and went through all the suggestions, but nothing worked. Decided to try and feed stiffer card through as that would give more grip. It worked and I found out what the problem was as a large wasp emerged, smeared up the page in a most ghastly display of mangled body parts and a rather voluminous amount of insect fluids!

Precisely what I have learned today. not even two years old, my MFP178 is now junk because of a tiny spring in the paper pickup roller clutch (false "paper jam in tray" error). It will cost me almost the purchase price to repair this toner-glutton. A lesson learned; HP is not a great brand now. Never again HP, a fanboi lost. I *always* had HP printers... my laserjet 5m must be 20 years old and it still just slogs away like a faithful old hound with never a moments trouble.
8:53 - I've been manually feeding the paper like this for more than a year. I've tried everything listed in this video and more. I'm one step away from getting a new printer 😥

Unpluging cable from both sides was a brilliant idea!!! Me stupid was always disconecting it only from one side and often power cord was not restarted. It was save my day. I was never expecting that some data or electricity may leftover in powercord and interfere with process. At first I was connecting printer afte 15 seconds, but after rewatching carefully video again, I've concentrate on connecting back power cord. Those HP printers are so amazing, smard power cord and great HOWTO video where user is treated like intelligent specie. Seriously.... I'll never buy garbage from HP again.

My HP officejet Pro L7580 will not grab the paper right and pulls it to the right and instantly jams up each time and then says that it is out of paper. I have at least 25 blank new sheets in tray 1 at each times. I have also looked for paper jams in the printer itself. When I pull the jammed paper out it most of the time the printer gets stuck on alignment printer then eventually fails. The problem never gets fixed. I have tried cleaning rollers etc. Only thing I did different was change out empty 88XL ink cartridges for new ones.
@@HPSupport I have done this and it has not fixed the problem. Do you have anymore suggestions? I really hate to be out the money that I spent on the new ink. Thanks.

yeah... what this vid doesn't cover is crappy design where the whole printer becomes junk because of a tiny spring going weak in the pickup roller clutch and repair will cost similar to the original price of the printer, which means I have to buy my less-than-two-years-old printer all over again but this time without the hindrance of warranties or any distracting paperwork like that. Very disappointed with my MFP178 - never done a days work in it's (short) life, hideously expensive cartridges with laughable copy yields and now it is land-fill because of sh1tty design... I used to rate HP and have a sturdy laserjet 5m in the workshop that just works and has done for 20 years. Seems HP has lost sight of the rabbit. I bought HP on the back of the 5m. I was wrong... so wrong. just mass produced cheap re-badged garbage now.

@@HPSupport Thank you for the response, but having tried all those recommendations it would appear that the printer is simply not compatible with the OS that I'm using. (Windows 10 64 bit). If that is the case, is there an available fix for this? I've tried absolutely everything and I'm getting the same issue: the paper starts to get fed into the tray, then stops, yet the printer keeps printing onto nothing (wasting all my ink) and the second I cancel the job the paper goes through (blank) no problem. Please send help.

My printer will pick up paper for the first page no problem, but then it won't pick up the second page. If I pull the paper out and put it back in, it prints no problem. But then I have to repeat it for every page that follows. Very frustrating!

@@HPSupport Thanks, it's an HP 8600 Officejet Pro a few years old. I've tried wiping the rollers with a dry cloth and little sign of dirt. I've tried a new pack of paper in case the old pack was damp - it's winter here. It's worst when doing multiple copies in draft mode but still happens in 'better' with a slower feed. It's best when doing single sheets at slow speed.
hp is totally unafhp is totally unaffordable and ruined all my works.Even on the first purchase, their products were COMPLETELY unusable.Even their white printing sheets are of very poor quality and are the only ones that jam EVERY time
