Imagine being Fury. Getting knocked tf out, coming back from the dead to win like a mf movie, and this dude says he lost cuz his costume was too heavy... Lol
@@WindWalker1961 no way Aldo took a dive. I would've loved to an actual fight though. I think that was the only way Conor could win. Aldo would clearly win now but I wanted to sit it 5 yrs ago.
I mean it kinda looked like it lol alot of trilogy fights are set up by being "fixed" or "worked" and look up volkanvskis rise aparently it was all "fixed" for them to have a star
He wasn’t even mad at Joe and Shaub. I think even him getting mad at Joe for revealing is a work. I love Chael but everything is a three ring circus with him. I envision him with a top hat and cane.
Chael was close friends with Team Quest teammate Dan Henderson. Hendo was a legend of Pride FC. So you better believe Sonnen had inside info about Pride
That's because people that fight in a parking lot usually fight with rage and aggression...in boxing they are showing up to fight for a paycheck. Big difference fighting for money and fighting out of rage.
@@ΜΟΛΩΝΛΑΒΕ_1776 thats because parking lot fights are fought with aggression and rage. Floyd fights without aggression and rage. He fights tactically and for money. Not cause someone offended him or his girl in a parking lot..
"...so here is a pile of cash for you to swing and miss Mayweather ..." "um .... that shouldn't be too hard to do, OK, I'll take it" OR was it "here is a pile of cash to NOT hit Paul really hard ..." "um .... that shouldn't be too hard to do, OK, I'll take it"
@@CHAZZ08 tf you mean Mike Tyson looked better and Mayweather is supposedly the best of all time let's try though no way to make him look better here I'm a Floyd fan also or at least I was
@@freedomfox8183 mike Tyson didn’t look close to his old self. He also fought a 50+ yo whose prime was at 168- 174 and had been getting KOed for over a decade and couldn’t hurt hi
Let's all sit down and listen to Uncle Chael speak knowledgeably about an organization he never fought in or had any dealings with, this ought to be good.
Dana found out a way to “fix” the fight by putting amateurs against established fighters. Along with old timers and shit records against his “star” fighters. He also started doing post and pre fight press conferences and weigh in ceremony shenanigans to hype things up with talk trash. Much like the wrestling industry.
you're not the one that's saying it mate. First of all, it's mostly speculation because there aren't solid evidence, second, stars need to be born from non fixed fights so until they are proven to be worthy there's no reason to fix any fights, thirdly, most of the time, they can't fix fights between two fighter who aren't desperate and finally, bold of you believe that so many people are welling to get beaten up in a ring where moves that are illegal now was legal. There were fixed fights, but people overestimate the percentage and the logistics of the process. The REAL reason why fighters from Japan lose in UFC is because fighters just get better over time. Just because Anderson Silva is winning fights at the rate of 50% for the past few years doesn't mean he wasn't good. If you want another example, Chuck Liddell a UFC champion at the time was dominated in Pride by Rampage Jackson.
@@ultimatechojian1159 I think most people can agree with what you’re saying but when the Yakuza is involved you can’t blame people for being more than skeptical about the outcome of many fights
Hey Chale, what were those shoes you were talking about a week ago or so? Went through your videos looking but I can't find the video with the promotion
Jack Johnson used to keep his opponent standing while whispering into their ear "Not yet Boss...you're going to have to take this beating a little longer". Fucking legend.
Chael, you may want to look into the women’s one night, three fight atom weight tournament coming up. First two fights are exhibition and the final fight is a professional match for the title. So tournaments do, and will still happen.
Match fixing has gone on forever. It is VERY hard to prove. The last one of any significance was Cowboy against Conner. That was so obvious it was spotted by even the most casual fans.
And just to be clear this isn't a troll comment. I don't think you would have won the fight anyway, but it was pretty clear they didn't want to risk cash cow Jones getting injured...
Thank You for admitting you threw the fight with Anderson. Because even as a white belt amature. I was taught if someone is close to getting a triangle choke. You stack that ass. You don't try to pull out sealing the deal.
So its the exact same thing when seth petruzelli fought kimbo slide. Promoters came to seth before the fight and offered him money to not take kimbo down, then ended up knocking kimbo out
Hey Uncle Chael.. This is not related to this videos topic, but I was wondering (while watching the build up to Diaz vs. Edwards) Edwards last fight was a No Decision, and ill also throw in Moreno vs. Fig ending in a draw, and there are more just over the last few years... Cowboy comes to mind... But, how does fighter pay work in those circumstances? Do they each split the entirety of the win purse? There is not much on the web in regards to that.
Like your channel. Two thoughts/questions. Does the example set by the Paul brothers show how combat sport athletes can make their own matches out side of organizations? Sell themselves. And would that be the way to bigger paydays for the athletes?
I swear Dana does this type of stuff in TUF. It seems like he tells one coach that he will pay him more if he trains his fighters a certain way and one still makes it to the finals or something. I don’t know if this is true but after I watched the Whitaker vs Gastelum season and their coaches challenge was to run in the heat when Whitaker had spent the whole season not working strikes at all or stand up but focusing his training on fundamentals of stand up like fainting in and out (which is a super useful technique) but Gastelum was training his guys different, more standard.
That video was cut. If you watch it all then you see it wasn’t and see why it was cut and the round and time is never mentioned. They were trying to make clicks. Also if you watch fight. They tied up the same way numerous times
chael talking real stuff here for those blind to see. think about mcgregor for a second. think about his rise. vince mcmahon wouldn't buy ufc because he said you can't have stars without knowing the outcome of the fights in advance....... mcgregor. thats all im saying.
Not sure what you're getting it but imagine how much bigger a star Connor would be had he beat Khabib and Poirer and never lost to nate, we would be talking about him as one of the greats of all time, now if he loses to Dustin again his career is probably over.
@@lukep757 It didn't matter if he beat Khabib... yes, it would've made him even more popular with casuals, but we already had the finished product at that point.
Obviously anyone with any knowledge of the sport knows there were fights that were totally fixed in Pride but I don’t think everything was BS. Like the big rivalries like Fedor and Nog or Wanderlei and Cro Cop were all legit but getting those fighters to the point of matching up via contendership, there were some behind the scene meddling for sure.
Well he agreed to fight using only Boxing, and everybody knew that. If he agreed to an mma match and then got knocked out.... That would be very telling
just ask askren how it's done, lol. guy knew he was taking a dive when he signed the contract, you can even tell from his pre fight interviews that he was going to take a quick payday. let's talk about how askren can never show his face in the sport again. that's a fun subject.
Why pay askren to take a dive in boxing if u can’t take askren in boxing then what the fuck r u doing even trying to be a boxer he chose askren cus it was an easy win😂
@@janka1732 wait, you're dumb enough to think askren's never been hit that hard? come on man, look at the footage of him smiling about his payday moments after the ko. dude, it was a work. all the paul fights are setups and works. why b other talking about them?
i saw that 3 fight exhibition last night, "I strong, I show world I fight 3 man". the first 2 fighters hardly ever punched back, they actively chose to guard even though they have plenty of opportunities to rip him a new face. the 3rd person was out of gas within 15 seconds and was spinning back fist-ing tenshin despite it being more of a "boxing" contest. Obviously none of the 4 fighters (including tenshin) box at all. And now there are chatters about him challenging Inoue Naoya or in his own mouth, going to the states to box professionally, which I hope he does, it'll be fun to see him cry on the ring again after getting wiped out in 15-seconds. smh
If you look at the actual footage and not the zoomed in version, you can clearly see that Logan didn’t even get wobbled, Floyd simply had him off balance.
Who from Pride says they lost or were in a fixed fight? Mark Coleman seems to be the only one. You're surely not gonna tell me Coleman agreed to get beaten by Fedor, Randleman agreed to suplex but then lose to Fedor or Chute Box vs Gomi was fixed.
I have a theory....that theory is that Chael P. prefers to have his right leg crossed over the left, and not the other way around. Although he may use left over right quite frequently, it isn't preferred. I have my hypothesis, now all I need to do is time leg cross position in all his videos and find the conclusion. But at this point, I defy anyone to disagree.
I gotta disagree on your "champs sell more merchandise" theory. Now, its just my personal opinion, but I'd go and buy Justin Gaethje gear anytime over, Charles Oliveira or Khabib's stuff. Why, because Gaethje is a fucking savage. And he's my dude. I wouldn't buy something because they're champ. I'd buy it because I'm a fan.
@@CHAZZ08 Even then... I'd get a 49ers jersey before I got whoever won the super bowl. I literally have no clue who won. But, You do make a point. Because I do see ppl wearing all kinds of different team jerseys, as if they really don't have a single favorite team they root for. But good point
No Chael that’s not what people are saying. You are wrong to think that Floyd’s ultimate goal is to entertain. His goal is to make money. He caught Logan and kept the fight going because he probably bet that the fight will go the distance. He couldnt care less about the fans. And surely Logan has no clue.
What everybody is not registering is the fact this was not a true contest. It was a exhibition end of story...entertainment that is downgrading the sport of boxing at the same time.
There’s at least one other way this can happen... I wasn’t alive, but Foreman fought five guys in front of Ali to try and win the public’s interest in a rematch. Supposedly, he actually fought all five dudes and they were just low level guys. Foreman even said Ali was helping him from the corner by the end and the crowd was booing big George. I think it was either his next fight or the one after where he was knocked out for the second time and retired for awhile.. but legend, and some books and George himself, has it that he really lined up 5 low level guys and clobbered them. Doesn’t seem that unreasonable after watching him put down people like Norton and Frazier right with in two rounds each.
I was hoping someone would throw their theory for his proposition in the comments. This is the first I saw and largely is what I think the trick to it is also. The ufc also isn't attached to records like every other sport. They will use them when it helps, like 2 undefeated guys fighting or something. But it is completely ignored when necessary. You never hear masvidals record during promos, or nate diaz or a lot of other needle movers who have highly blemished records. If the fans like em, then let it happen. And don't make stars dependent on having the belt. But all of this gets convoluted too, and I can name multiple contradictions to everything I just said lol. They do a good job of putting together an amalgamation of things in their promotions. Building up camp rivalries, putting weight into past meetings that were deep undercard fights that didn't mean much when they happened. But overall I agree that what you said is the jist of it. Let guys be who they are and the cream will rise to the top.
I think it was more like an understand that neither guy would punch to hard...the proof is that neither one had any markings on their faces after the exhibition...and in all fairness they didn't call it a fight...they called it an exhibition...so no complaints from me...that being said i didn't buy the ppv
That was as fixed as the Connor fight. These two fights were fixed in Floyd’s mind. He carried both fights for the entertainment of people. The only reason why Floyd fought Logan is because of how he entertained them with Connor.
The UFC doesn't fix fights but it does like to stack the deck in favour of it's potential stars that are given "the push" or "Dana White privilege". They are given favorable stylistic match ups so they can win in dominant fashion, combine that with a decent slot on the card almost right off the bat and that rocket ship will take off it's own.
Just to be clear Dana IS NOT breaking the law because 1) he's not stupid 2) he respects the sport So every athlete on the roster has the opportunity to stop a ship from taking off but that doesn't really matter because dana doesn't need every ship to reach leave orbit just 2-3 every 4 years or so
What's up with Nate saying "If it was a real fight it would've been over." He said that in the post fight conference when he was high as hell. Did he throw his last fight.
