When you said you weren't going to get a new rug until and then stopped and said for awhile, I knew what you were going to say and it made me tear up...my dog was about 14 when he passed. I was living out of town and couldn't get home on the day we put him down ♡
I like how you get things done and include the kids. I sometimes just want to do it fast when they are napping but yet don't want to do anything while they are napping.
One of the things I enjoy most about your videos is how involved your little girls are in everything you do. Granted, they are small, but I can sense the interest and excitement whenever there's anything 'new' going on, whether remodeling or just cleaning. You and your husband are so patient with your children, and it will pay off - both for you and your children - when they are grown! Great video!!

Always let your girls help you when they want to ! My mom used to make me do everything with her ( cooking , cleaning , decorating , crafts ) so growing up I new all these things by heart and didn’t hate doing them
I really like where the new couch is now. I think it definitely makes more sense as you can look out into the yard if some kids were outside and some inside at the same time 👍🏼
Just FYI if you haven’t gotten rid of that rug - professional carpet cleaners have access to chemicals that are not available to Gen public that will deal better with urine. It may be worth a try.
We have an 13 year old Maltese who’s been having more frequent accidents on our NEW rug. She drinks and eats more so we took her to the vet. They tested her for cushing’s disease and sure enough. She has a tumor on her pituitary gland and is now on meds for the rest of her days, months, years. We don’t know for sure. She’s not in pain. Her accidents are less frequent as she’s on the meds. We have also used Rocco and Roxie, bought on Amazon for pet smells. I even use it in my rug shampooer
Hi Denise, have you thought about adding doors to the top few shelves in the play area? You could either add new ones or repurpose the existing bottom doors and add some chairs at the bottom instead, making a work table for the girls perhaps? Another amazing transformation, you have done such an amazing job on your home :)
Loved the under couch treasures and then you found the in couch treasures 🤣. Love seeing the little ones help. My 2 ½ year old grandson helped me empty the dishwasher and he was thrilled on how well he did, he also told me that I did a good job 🥰. Sorry about Bella, in case you find another rug that has urine on it vinegar gets the smell out really well. I cleaned it, then put the vinegar and water mixture on let it sit for about an hour then cleaned it again. We adopted two dogs that are sisters and they had been rescued from a puppy mill. Unfortunately they weren't house broken and occasionally still have accidents but they are happy and make huge strides in their progress. I'll be keeping Bella in my thoughts and prayers. 100% agree with the room sharing its good for them to be close, when they reach a certain age they won't want to share anything and you would regret that time they could have been sharing and being happy in each others space let them be kids and share as sister before that stage ends x
I enjoy all ur videos. I used to let my kids help me cook. It always took twice as long if not longer. Today at 24 and 21 they are excellent cooks 🥰 it was a wonderful bonding time💕
I love all your videos, I get so motivated to do stuff around my home. Although I don’t have little kids anymore (my youngest is 13) I see that American families just have too much stuff, I guess it’s the big houses you live in, here in Mexico our homes are much smaller so clutter isn’t an option hehehe. I remember after my kids’ birthdays, I would take out a bunch of stuff before opening all the toys they received. I admire your energy especially with 4 little kids.

My 6year old daughter and 4year old son have been sharing a room for the last 3 and a bit years and they are both very happy. At last year they even slept in the same bed as it gave them both comfort.
The family room came out like"wow"!!!...the only thing I'd do differently is the hanging stuffed animal thingy and the over filled baskets under the book shelves (less is best)....the girls sharing a room when their small is always a good idea, it gives them a chance to bond, and learn how to share, and respect each other's space....the room came out cute, love the night time "reading cave"!!!.…the outside movie area is such a cool idea!!!...hope the rain and the urine smells didn't ruin it too much for you guys??....the part that made me smile the most are your "sweet little helpers", just darling!!!...
I absolutely love your videos! The girls room, and play room, turned out great. My older sister and I shared a room for yeeears until my parents had a new house built when I was a Senior in high school. THAT’S how long we shared a room. The girls will love it! I hope you all had a great weekend. 😘
It's Sunday and time for the Wonderful World of Denise and John! Great job on the kiddos playroom. Love the picture rail, especially over the sofa. That wall looks great! The girls shared room looks charming and I can imagine a lot of whispered giggles and fun taking place. My one suggestion is to have the mirror ar their eye level 😉 The kiddos are getting so big. Lennie is so helpful and was surprised how interested Theo has become in helping out. Twins are so handsome and looked adorable in the swinging cot. What a beautiful family.

When you put that cute potted plant on the table, my first thought is always omg I could NEVER with my son! He’s so wild lol. I’m also starting to think about transitioning him from the crib to a toddler bed, but that also terrifies me because I don’t think he will stay in the bed hahah. I haven’t finished the video yet, but I can’t wait to see how the shared room comes together! I think the girls will have so much fun sharing a room!
hear a lot of people saying that. I'm lucky enough my kids don't pay attention to the plants because they've been around them all their lives. I will keep Theo in a crib for as long as possible. Once she starts climbing out, thats when she gets a toddler bed.
On your first shelves, I would put a bunch of colorful cloth bins and use those as decor/storage for small toys, and move everything else up a shelf and utilize the shelves more. Your space turned out beautiful as usual. You really have a design eye.

Klimt is one of if not my favorite artists! I have "the Kiss" hanging in my home ( in the bathroom actually) it looks good I promise Lol! I adored those "baby Klimt's" They look amazing in the playroom space!! The whole space looks great! I shared a room with my sister growing up & I completely agree that it's a great way for siblings to grow up. I’m a big fan of room-sharing too! Once they’re school age, they’ll spend much more time apart than together so I say let the shared space cement their friendship.
I have always loved your videos but now they mean so much more to me. We purchased a house here in our town so we are moving from our rent house to our own house which happens to be only 4 streets away. It has great bones but needs some TLC and we will be doing most of that ourselves; paint, changing light fixtures, caulking everywhere, landscaping, etc. I hope to one day redo the master bath and closet but will probably sub that out. It is an exciting time for us.

I too have a couple of very old fur babies. One pit bull that is 19 and another one that is 14. Along with many more ..I gave up on rugs except like next to our beds that get picked up and thrown in the washer on the regular. Love those fur babies. Oh ya a house full of teenagers too. Love them too.

Denise- I have an older cat that urinates on my carpet and here’s what has worked for me: Half water, half vinegar- mix as much as you need for the stained area to soak. Then I pour hydrogen peroxide over the area and sprinkle baking soda over everything - let it soak and bubble for at least an hour, the longer the better. Then use your carpet cleaner to vacuum everything up. Really has worked for me!
