I got one too the same as the one on here and i got it for 150 and all it needed was a carb and tune-up oil change starter and one spindle replaced and now its running like a champ😅👍🏾
I have the exact same riding mower. :) I have to replace the blades in it. Bought it brand new and garage kept so its in pretty good shape. A bit dusty/dirty though. Wondering how to drop the deck for maintenance. Ill trip thru your videos and maybe you have one. Take care,

I just got one of these mowers for a great price and am trying to fix it up.... problem is I have no model number on it to look up parts. Can you or someone in the comments let me know? I'd appreciate it!
What I do when I’m in that situation is just try googling, like, date the engine from the first 2 digits in the code, google whatever year then “bolens 36” “ and then get on some websites with parts diagrams and match it up by comparing the diagrams to the parts on yours. MTD shares a lot of parts so It won’t be tough to find what you need.
What's the horsepower and deck size? Easy to look up on a mower parts site to find the exact or a similar mower. The parts are nearly universal between the MTD, Yard Machines, Yard-Man, Bolens, Huskee, Troy-Bilt, White, Cub Cadet mowers as they are all built by MTD. I'd recommend joining a small engine forum too, like for lawn and garden equipment or a small tractor forum.
Exact same thing just happened to me. Same make/model and someone giving it away and I happened to be the first guy to claim it. We even have the same issue, with the mower deck spindles being seized. My question is where did you get your replacement parts because everywhere I looked, the spindles were over $100 each and yet you mentioned at the end that you had only about $55 invested. Please share your parts source!
