I've used this sprayer several times now on brick pavers, a wood deck, patio, and a driveway. ru-vid.comUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX It has performed as expected on all surfaces. For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don't want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.

Thank you so much for this video! I thought my Ryobi 1700 psi electric pressure washer was a goner after it stopped working for my daughter mid pool deck cleaning. I began to youtube troubleshoot, and the only two problems mentioned were the GFCI and the switch valve. Both outcomes basically meant surgery on the machine, plus the cost of parts and time for shipping. The advice given from another repair video was to just get a new unit. We've only had this machine for a year and a half, and have only put 5 hours of use on it. I definitely wasn't pleased with the idea of getting a new unit. Fortunately, I asked my daughter to explain to me in detail exactly what happened one more time. She said it was working fine, and then she heard a click or pop in the handle, and it stopped working. I was then lucky enough to find your video and EUREKA! The spring inside the handle was stuck, and the metal rod on the inside that holds the spring down had wiggled out of place. I didn't even need to complete all the steps in your process. The spring was stuck at first, but after taking it out and pushing it on the ground, it dislodged and started working again as usual. Put it back together, and VIOLA! Here's to people like you, saving the average man hundreds of dollars one day at a time! Cheers! 👍🍻👏

Absolutely amazing! I bought a new one and had this issue but couldn’t figure out why. So I thought I ruined the pump because I didn’t bleed the line initially. But I ran it a very short time so now I realize that wasn’t it. Exchanged it for another and had same low idle issue with 2nd new model. I tried more things this time and found that if I manually pressed the throttle line/choke (I’m not a mechanic sorry, just a logical thinker) to rev the engine while holding down the trigger on the wand I would get pressure. Also, the pump worked like normal until I released the trigger. I would have to rinse and repeat to get pressure again. I thought maybe I need to adjust the choke to get engine to idle higher. This video has been a great find. I found one other guy who takes the engine apart and explains how the unloader valve works. Rather than take my second new machine back I think I’ll fix it with a couple wrenches. Thanks so much Ryan.

Excellent video. I have the same issue with my Ryobi, surging in idle, but no problem at full power. It looks straight forward enough to remove the carburetor. But it really did not look like yours was all that dirty, if at all? I doubt mine is, either, as I don't use the unit that much, and I don't leave old gas in it over the winter. I did not think either it is the idle down cable. I I have suspected the off-loader value......I found that mine was seized in the housing, trying to pull it out. I ended up removing the spring, and putting a stack of washers on the shaft, and using the adjustment nut (17mm socket) to reverse torque the valve, and it did pop out, doing that. It did not look too crudy, when I got it out-but it was seized into the housing. I have replacement off-loader on order. Hopefully when it comes, that will be the end of my surging problem. Because that seemed to be the identical solution o what I saw in this video.

Thansk for the info was given one of thesse exact pressure washer cleaned the carb cause it had horrible ethanol build up fired right up but is surging unless i hit the wand to spray then it smoothes out revs up stays steady for a few seconds then it seems to rev even higher possibly to high any thought on this. Could it be caused by the those nuts being to loose or could it be not enough water from my hose coming into the pump?
@cwytonweb
@cwytonweb Год назад
If you are going to be messing around with the nuts and springs on an unloader valve, you need to spend 15-20 bucks on a water pressure gauge. Without one you're just going to be guessing about setting it right (and it needs to be set right).
@Bassmada
@Bassmada Месяц назад
Where would you install the water pressure guage? What you said makes sense but I don't know where it would install.
@cwytonweb
@cwytonweb Месяц назад
Water pressure gauges normally come with quick connect fittings. I normally place it between the pump and the hose. The male quick connect fitting should always point in the direction the water flows (if possible). It's super hard to judge PSI without a gauge.@@Bassmada
@Bassmada
@Bassmada Месяц назад
@@cwytonweb thanks for the reply. That makes sense too. My bolts stripped on mine so I have to re tap and then adjust but I'm going to look into the water pressure guage for tuning it properly. Thanks again!
@cwytonweb
@cwytonweb Месяц назад
@@Bassmada Some folks install them between the hose and gun, which is easier to read but pressure at the gun is going to be less than after it leaves the pump depending on the length of the hose and Im mainly concerned with how much pressure is coming out of the pump.

I have a Ryobi RY80940 3100 PSI pressure washer. It was last used two years ago, it's been sitting in the basement since. Engine runs but not full power & not much water pressure. The pump bypass valve nuts are tight, the spring is really heavy duty, I detected no valve shaft movement going from trigger pulled to released. I used a socket wrench & tapped the big nut with a hammer, no movement. I suspect the shaft is ceased, have you seen that? I up ended the pressure washer & I'm presently soaking the spring base in WD40 (several times already), there's a trough there & the WD40 appears to be soaking into the shaft bearing. I'll check for movement again tomorrow.

So if I’m pressure washing more fragile surfaces like brick or wood siding and I don’t have the wand that lets u adjust the pressure can I get away w/ just loosening the spring nut a little bit and tighten the lock nut until I’m done w/ the job? Or would that do damage to engine and/or pump long term?
@andyhipp1270
@andyhipp1270 Год назад
They sell different tips for the wand for softer surfaces. I got mine from Walmart with there hyper tough brand. Different color tips for different pressures or the rotating one for concrete cleaning. Or u can hold the wand further back from the surface to reduce the pressure hitting it.
@cwytonweb
@cwytonweb Год назад
Theoretically you can reduce pump pressure by altering the settings on the unloader valve. The danger is in all the water that passes thru the unloader valve will be constantly circulating around inside the pump, and you won't be able to fully discharge it all thru the gun. This can cause overheating issues as well as overcompression that cause the engine to stall or in extreme cases even shear the key and throw off the engine's timing. Nevertheless, if you're bent on doing it, get a water pressure guage and attach it to the wand so you reset the unloader valve to its proper setting and pressure wash in 10-15 minute sessions on and 15 minutes off, shutting the engine off to clear the pump and let it cool.

We all use crescent wrenchs (I don't use unless in a pinch), but don't use them when making a video. Crescent wrenchs are for people with no tools, and less mechanical skills and knowledge. Always start the pressure washer with the wand trigger squeezed, to relieve pressure. Good luck on your new RU-vid channel. It takes lots of work, time, and the right content and likeability to really build a channel to 100,000 plus subscribers.
