Fixing A Kenmore/Whirlpool Washer With A Flashing Lid Lock Light!

I opened up the panel, disconnected the connector that pertains to the lid locked light. I then connected it to power and the lid light is off. Different to what you have in the video

My kenmore sudenly stoped with clothes and water inside, lid light was blinking door wasn’t opening. So i used screwdriver and open it. When I disconnected door switch there’s no light and nothing, i try to bypass switch it flashing. So bypass not going to work I will need actualy switch relay ?

Maytag centennial replaced lid lock harness. Followed your video and after unplugging the harness and the machine. Then plugged back in the power and the lid lock light did not come on. So it’s not the board But I can’t get the washer to function. The sensing light is on and so is the lid lock light

Replaced the Lid Lock, didn't work. Replaced the Board, that didn't work. I'll try and update after I figure it out.

Thank you for your video, my machine locked after it drained with my clothes inside. The locked light is on and I tried what u did and the lights were off when i plugged it back in. After I replugged it the light switch & turned it back on it went back to the same. Light is on & stuck ...please help..ive already dont diagnosics and the code is F5 E3 and i dont know where to go from there 😢

Do you know to just fix lid lock? I unplugged the cable and lid lock goes off so I know it’s that but How can I get the washer to open to replace clothes

@AlphabetCo-lk9jo Is correct - the light will also flash on other faults - I recently replace my shift actuator and splutch assembly - a few weeks after apparently the nut hold the pulley to the splutch came loose because I didn’t grease the plastic gears and the vibrations made nut come loose and belt come off - After the belt came off the fault -FLASHING lid lock came back . This has also happened when I installed the ring the shifter actuator hand move upside down . Always calibrate after fix and if you need access to this inside of washer and lid is locked after you turn of washer - unplug and plug it back in and turn on washer and it’ll unlock . ❤❤love your vids just sharing some scenarios I’ve encountered these errors . Last thing I’d change is the board. Just like you did.

Sam problem with mine different machine additionally mine won’t open because of the lid lock. I did the test you did and it open but still blinking so I’ll have to remove the board also

Exactly what I was looking for . TY !!! Also, is there a way to change the Amount of water that the machine fills up with? Even in the "Bulk Bedding" setting there is not enough water for my personal washing preference. TIA for any advice.

At 10:42, you mention taking the striker off the lid and inserting it into the receptacle. I would like to do that permanently so that I can add more water after the soak cycle. Will the machine continue to function if I just insert the striker into the receptacle permanently?

My I unplugged the lid lock and plugged the washer back and mine is NOT blinking. I replaced the lid lock cable thing and still lid is “locked” how do I fix it???

Did you ever diagnose control board?

My washer's lid lock was flasing while it was draining. After that, it just turned off.

I sent this info to Florida.

Can I just unhook the lid lock and use the washer without it. Why would anyone want to hook it back up?

The washer thinks the door is locked, but also knows the door is open. So it faults. If you use your finger to press the door closed switch at the lock actuator, and power cycle the washer, upon restarting it will cycle the lock, and unlock. With you holding the door switch closed, it will unlock and remove the fault state and return to normal.
