I've seen similar on vintage equipment of that erra. Some with a single bolt, others with a couple of bolts to retain it. No solenoid just full battery voltage/current running through a switch.
In our disposable society it is really nice to know some of us are into repair and rebuilding. BTW what are those pop rivets you were using? They seem different from the cheesy ones that I'm use too.
Thanks for the kind words! Those are closed style pop rivits. They look exactly the same from the outside as the ones you get from a hardware store, but they are water tight to 10psi and 30% stronger. I learned about them from a viewer on the Airstream repair for use in areas that may see moisture. I get them on Amazon.
Hey Austin, I just got my 71 Citroen HY Van and it won’t idle. The van will run and stay on if I give it gas but once I let go the engine shuts off. Any idea what it could be? Thx!
