Ever since we picked the car up we were worried by how little frontal area the Supra had for cooling, and when we started logging our fears were confirmed, with the car suffering from high IATs.
Our friends at CSF had heard of the issue from various tuners and we knew they were developing a solution, and finally it is ready! So we waste no time in getting it fitted and logging the results.

I've 09mini cooper S r56 and would like to change the inter cooler to get a better flow of air. Which is the better name brand?

I personally haven't experienced any heat soak and I'm also on Stage 2. Maybe it just hasn't been warm enough yet, I'll see this summer.

Even stock the IATs are higher than we would like, and compared to say an M140i that shares a very similar engine. Tuning it only exacerbates the issue. The lower the IAT is the better so a simple fit and forget to drop 5c is a no brainer IMO.

40 degree Farenheight - not bad at all! Ive been waiting on installing my Fluidyne - but now I think I will try it as the upgraded heat exchanger looks to make good gains. I wonder if pure meth is run if it would make as big of a difference or not.

why doesn't it fit like it does in all the other videos with the supra, the horse detection before and after ?? do you have the same value as with the stock intercooler? ... The car is Amazing Bro!!

Well according the the log it's a 5° iat difference but according to the good engine timing the stock one isn't suffering too bad either.

The tune was done with the stock cooler, and we didn’t want to adjust the tune for the after. Could push the timing a little more now I think with the lower IAT.

I'm hoping the B46 results are a little better. 4 degrees IAT reduction is nothing.

I little question, the iat is a bit higher than the ambient air temp because of heat soaking the intake components and hence raising the intake air temp . Right?? If yes, why not trying to solve this problem with a cold air intake instead ?! And how a heat exchanger lower the iat ? Is it be lowering the temp of the engine and hence the heat in the engine bay and hence heat soaking intake components??

The heat exchanger is lowering IAT by cooling down the charged air more effectively. It has nothing to do with engine bay temps. A cold air intake such as the Eventuri that is fully sealed will help, but the stock heat exchanger gets saturated too quickly due to the small amount of vents at the front, which then means it is no longer effective at cooling the charged air that has been heated up by the turbo.

@@EvolveAutomotive im assuming he is talking about the fake vents, during the launch of the car Toyota said vents were put on the car specifically for tuners to remove to get better cooling

@@bugsy791 Ahh, the ones on the bonnet that sit outside of the rubber seal meaning that even if there was a hole when removed (there isn't) wouldn't be venting the engine bay at all as they're sealed off from it.

How much cutting did you have to do? With Mishimoto you have to cut a lot.....
