Great job mate. Have you much specialist competition in your working radius or are you the go to company ?
@Premier_lawns_official
@Premier_lawns_official 2 года назад
Scott, due to the videos, I'm more or less fully booked all the time. I have very limited time for new clients. I probably should take on more staff, but I like a simple life just under the VAT. Though inflation is making that harder all the time! The videos are set up as another company and I kind of work part-time between the two, though spend more time working on the lawn treatments as that's the bread and butter. To answer your question, my SEO is really strong, again due to the videos and there are more other companies doing what I do, there are green thumb and Greensleeves that do well around me and have a very big presence, and probably a lot of the local gardeners watching my videos trying to offer the same services. There are also a few other lawn care companies that we overlap in some areas, though I don't tend to see them as competition. The local franchises push through with paid ads, the other local guys probably struggle a little to get noticed but they must be there.
@scottellwoodgardening287
@scottellwoodgardening287 2 года назад
@@Premier_lawns_official your model sounds like it’s working and more staff would probably complicate things. You could have a model for a franchise to take on the big guys though.

@Premier_lawns_official
@Premier_lawns_official Год назад
I can't tell you as it wouldn't be fair on the client, but let's break it down Do you own a scarifier or aerate. You're looking around £100 per day per tool Do you pay for the waste or are you leaving it there. How much will that cost A couple of ton of good topsoil, let's say £50-80 a ton plus delivery Other products and tools, rakes, shovels etc Need to buy seed and fertilizer First time doing it? Might take you best part of 2 days. A day at least on your own Plus a bit of profit on top

hey robbie, how long after new grass has started to grow before you can use iron?
@thesugarlipslove
@thesugarlipslove 2 года назад
@@BrettSucks why? well a lot of autumn/winter fert has iron in it. as does seaweed and other supplements. my new grass is just over seed on the drought affected areas. so i feel it is a valid question.
@thesugarlipslove
@thesugarlipslove 2 года назад
@@BrettSucks thats a better answer ;) firstly, it is unlikely that i will be using it, but if i do it will probably be as a form of moss control. it may also be useful to help knock back some baby clover i have noticed that seems to be sprouting everywhere. however, i thought it better to ask if robbie had an opinion before i used and regretted it. feel free to pass on anymore lawn tips :)
@Premier_lawns_official
@Premier_lawns_official 2 года назад
@foxy new lawns like getting fed, any preseeder fertiliser will do. You will hear lots of folks say about you shouldn't apply ferts in the winter, and while that is generally true, if your new lawn is yellow or has yellow grass blade tips 9 times out of 10 it needs fed Iron on a new lawn, iron can dehydrate plants (That's how it kills moss, it dehydrates it), so take that thought a stage further. New grass isn't that hardy and strong. Once you apply the iron it dehydrates it and the plant can't cope. So, it's best to leave the iron off it for a while.

Our lawn is so full of weeds and moss that i think it may be a case of re turfing. When is the best time of year to lay turf?
@markwilliamson7846
@markwilliamson7846 2 года назад
Turfing season is on now but bear in mind you need to water a new turf lawn for about a fortnight to allow the new grass to root. So if you live in an area that has a hosepipe ban don’t do it. Leave it until the ban is over.
