Thanks for this video! I have the exact same model of mouse, and wanted to know how to disassemble it. I've had a squeaky scroll wheel for years, but it wasn't really bothering me. However, recently I noticed scrolling was jerky / scrolling in the wrong direction sometimes. It's probably happening because of dust in the scroll wheel. I'm going to try fixing the problem later today.
Success! Cleaning the scroll wheel fixed the squeaking. However, it wasn't enough to fix the jerky scrolling. There was metal corrosion in the scroll wheel's sensor. We used aerosol contact cleaner on the scroll wheel sensor. After that, the scroll wheel was fixed. Everything seems to be working fine, scrolling normally.
now how to actually fix the scroll wheel skipping.. actually, i think i was able to at least improve it (kept cleaning until it does not skip for now). i took some isopropyl and a cloth and kept it on the scrolling thing on the left hand side as i scrolled the wheel back and forth. if not fixed, at least it works better. a bit of gunk was showing up on the cloth. it took a while as every time i lifted the cloth and used another spot, more gunk was showing. maybe you can use another substance, isopropyl is kinda my goto... it dries fast so i assume it wont damage anything. what a great mouse. i actually have a brand new spare somewhere, but still on my first one. nope, didn't entirely fix it. but the temporary fix seems to imply it's just really really dirty. and cant open it up so there's probably little bits still stuck in there. so i tried cleaning it more. i had some maf cleaner, which is a kind of alcohol in spray form. it got more gunk out, but it's still in there. another trick is that when installing the scroll wheel back into the gear, try to find the rotation that has the most grab. i noticed the rotations were not equally grabby, and that might have been a core issue all along? it's sometimes slips gear, which for me was causing it to roll forward then back. now it's stiff, but better than skipping and slipping.
This was the best mouse Razer has ever released. I hate side buttons and I have jumpy fingers. Its worth repairing. My friends dog knocked over a soda on it and it got sticky.
@@paultiu3212 i ended up changing my mind, i bought a Model O and ripped out its LEDs instead lol. still using my modded Model O currently, but my G-Wolves Hati will be my permanent main mouse once have time to install stiffer/more firm microswitches for M1/M2 in it. get a Hati if you can
@@maromorostar6621 i only used it for a year before I decided to get a new one, don't really like it personally. but my little brother still uses it and it works as new
I tried this and for some reason the two dpi settings on the bottom came out. It was a nightmare trying to get those to fit back in. if you have the mirror special edition its pretty much identical, but I'd recommend not removing the processing board.
I had a Razer Abyssus Essential, and it was the best mouse I've had in terms of footprint and weight, where I adapted best. Can you recommend me one similar to the Razer Abyssus Essential ergonomics?
Had a problem with my scrollwheel on my Abyssus, so I bought a Steelseries Rival 710 in 2017. Today it broke totally (doesn't take power), so I wondered if I could breathe new life in the Abyssus. The abyssus from 2014 is alive, Rival from 2017 is dead.
