I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣....HE SAID "BACK FROM THE DEAD LIKE THRILLER" MAN TAKE THEM TO THE NEAREST SCRAP YARD AND GET WHATEVER U CAN FOR EM BRO🤣🤣🤣
How Manny cans of each? Did you let the black dry before adding the metallic or paint it along with the wet black? Is it holding up? Would you do it different?
Now we didnt do chrome rims at an auto auction in Pa I worked at but wouldnt this plastic dip kinda peel off that polished surface? We had to scotch brite cleans rims or the next coat wouldnt stick right
Wouldn't a wide wire brush attachment be better and cover more surface? It would carve out the rim. I gotta do this to my chrome oem lesabre rims. Chrome is peeling off in sheets and has that whiteish residue underneath. And before plasti dip on the back surface, hit it with rust reformer. I dont understand why u painted the chrome side.
Yes it probably would have been better than what I was using. I believe a wire brush would give you a way finer finish. Overall I was just trying to make them look better than what they were first set I did actually
Yo I saw yu used the grinder but yu only buffed the back of the rim, why didn't yu do the front face of the rim ? Did the paint holdout on the chrome surface looks good tho i wanna do mine I was thinking maybe buff the front to
Kareem Mohammed the chrome was decent on the front so I didn't grind that and yea the plasti dip has held up so far and it's been close to three months. And thanks Mayne I'm going to do a winter time plasti dip video to see how it holds in the snow and below zero Temps
Dangelo Omar nice, I hear ppl say that paint don't hold on chrome, mine front face isn't 100 I'm not sure what I'm doing yet maybe b4 I'll make up my mind
Dangelo Omar I'm interested to see how the winter holds up. I want to do a rino liner type of paint on myn. You think that metal flake will look decent on that too?
Ok, so biggest problem with that is your wire cup, actually embeds metal into the surface your grinding on, which could cause rust, a true wire wheel would help you to get in the spokes easier.
I got some chrome covered alloy old american racing rims I want to keep but the chrome is starting to peel. And when I put new tires on them they wont balance. I think because the back of the wheel is so corroded. Will this help me ? Thx
I grew up poor I used to do things like this to get by. Now I own an Electircal contracting company. You have to teach the young to use their hands. Keep teaching Bro. All you haters.. Kick rocks.
I actually dipped some rims last summer n still hasn’t peeled off u gotta hit em good so they will last it’s cheap easy way so u won’t throw your old rims away
Finish with plasti dip? After all that work you wanna cheap out with plasti dip? Just rechrome them and be done wil last a whole lot longer and look better
Coming from a painter myself who went to school I remember back in school that you have to acetone wash the Chrome before you paint it otherwise that s***'s just going to peel off so to Anyone who reads this there are several steps including acetone washing sanding grinding and pitting in order to paint chrome so if you want a quick cheap fix this is the way to go but I bet you every year you're going to have to repaint
People who criticize/hate are loosers. These are the same people make excuses for their failures or blame others for their problems. On a high note, thank you for the video.
I CANT BELIEVE YOU JUST COVERED THAT BEAUTIFUL CHROME WITH PAINT, I'M SORRY BUT YOU CANT TAKE THAT PAINT AND AND THOSE RIMS AND TOSS EM IN CREEK BED CAUSE THEY'RE RUINED NOW
Did you really plastidip over the wheel weights ... *facepalm* Just take'm off bro and get your tire rebalanced! Idk ... I don't trust this for a second.
Plasti dip will last for a minimum of 1 year provided an appropriate amount of costs were laid down and the product was sprayed correctly. Good video but those aerosol can are not designed to be sprayed sideways. Causes the can to sputter
Wow I mean this is absolutely the worst way to repair rims first off you did it in direct sunlight you used Deck cards to mask off the tire which will enable you to get the backside of the lip also the wind can blow and stick the card on the painted surface and not to mention not wearing a mask the amount of time and money that you spent on them rims you could have had them professionally sandblasted and powder-coated and then remount the tires probably less than $500 I absolutely encourage no one to use this methodh
Those ugly rims dont need to b saved they need to go to the trash.... They waist all that money on big chrome wheels and cant buy good brake pads to save their wheels
Elchingon_92 And the award for the dumbest comment on this video goes to...You! As dngle berry put it, corrosion from elements is what ruins rims, not anything to do with your brakes. I lean come on, it's a wheel.. dont you know manufacturers figured out long ago how to give their rims tough as fuck surfaces to safegaurd against something as obvious as brake dust?! Lol idiot.
Alot of these rims end up in this condition cause they don't take them off over winter then they sit out on the wet snow and have salt on them and what not without keeping them washed. Same as your paint job, you can have a brand new car and in a year or two have the paint look like shit cause of neglect. Nothing lasts forever dude
You didn’t fix them, you stripped them and covered the bare material with temporary protection which will only make matters worse over time. Not trying to rag on you instead give some insight for next time!
