Fixing double clicking switches in a GPW Ghost! Full process, no cuts!

glad to hear! sounds super successful. at 13:00 if you look closely, im blocking the magnet since getting them out is annoying. (just pull the click out and youll see the magnet, just fyi!) glad it helped :)

thanks so much! as far as the switch selection goes, the switch selection is up to the customer. i really enjoy teals as well, but since they are not gold plated, i do not even offer them as an option for replacement in the gpw. the current theory of why the gpw double clicks so much is bc logitech run the switches well below voltage spec (to get battery life savings), which cases oxidation, which causes double clicks. gold plating (and silver/copper plating) all are more oxidation resistant than something not plated/coated. so it doesnt make sense to spend the money to install a non gold plated switch that will develop double clicking as quickly as the first pair did.

@@entsfps yea i took it apart cause i wanted to paint my gloss white and noticed that it was the white omron instead of the blue omron which was surprising

wild, prob switching for reliability id imagine!

they both *now* use the g1 variant of the 20m switches which is silver plated so it should be fixed, time will tell

i personally bought the mouse when it came out and even play minecraft 1.7 pvp the "double click" acheived by the gpro wireless isnt really a double click or useful its more like when you are holding down click it sometimes just thinks you are spamming click it isnt reliable or really useful at least in my opinion so id save your money and get a model o with the debounce time because this does not have that same affect

razer optical switches are proprietary -- you can only swap them with other razer optical switches, theyre also hotswap

@@entsfps So that means if I shipped a Razer Viper Mini out to you - you wouldn't be able to replace the switches with different types? I dont care for the optical switches they use.

@@sinnthetic616 correct, anything made with razer optical switches is completely incompatible with any standard switches

seems like an issue with the mouse shell -- if it doesnt affect anything then its just part of the mouse

Ents it’s pretty annoying though because before I changed the switches it felt completely fine so I’m kinda confused

could be that the switches are .01 mm too high or low compared to the last ones, the mouse was tightened more or less, could be the pcb is more or less flush now than it was -- you can try to reseat everything and see if it happens, specifically take the m1 and m2 off the shell and put back

see how clickfeel is as you are tightening the screws

Ents how do you take the m1 and m2 off the shell?
