From my experience, MacBooks don’t always come on straight away if the battery is flat. Best to let it charge for a couple of minutes and then try to power it on.

I’ve been ploughing thru your extensive catalog of repair vids and it has only just occurred to me at the star of this one… All repairs that we all successfully complete prevents landfill AND slightly interrupts the sales of new units. What I've learned from this series is that even if repairing things is literally your job, you still end up losing money if you buy broken stuff from ebay. Its really entertaining though.

@@daniel070487 Depends. I've had good luck but you do need to source from the right places. I personally recommend cash converters for faulty tech as they are 99% of the tie untouched.

I used to watch Louis Rossman almost everyday he was posting mac book repairs, he covered everything, and what comes in my mind is the fact there are many states, if you put the chassis to test you need to make sure the screen lid sensor is working so it wouldn't think the lid is closed which would prevent it from turning on/fan spin, iirc Louis used to test for fan spin only with the bare board, because that charging light means most power rails are fine, so it could be a lid sensor or stuck in a sleep state? (those S1, S2 stuff i forgot) Also as you now have the donor board I'd be curious to see if the ohm reading of the short is same

Hello...@Halloway616 is correct...I have an older (2008) MacBook Pro that I use occasionally. I always have to let it charge for a while before it will let me power it on. It has taken up to 45min sometimes before it will power on. Hope this helps.

use some fine emry paper with chip , deoxdosize it, then flux and solder, ive found makes it perfect ,

I want to sell you a laptop that I'm too afraid to work on. Friend of mine has a Lenovo yoga book that stopped charging out of nowhere. Once the battery died that was it. It doesn't turn on with the battery taken out or anything. It just doesn't do anything anymore. I don't know if you can fix it or not but I think it would make a great video and maybe I can learn something from it.

eBay Fee (6.9%) How you manage that??? Final valuation fee alone is 12.8% (here in UK for private seller). Postage also has the 12.8%. It's a wonder how someone can sell stuff there and make a profit. eBay is full of dealers these days. Nearly all the console stuff here reeks of dealer. All the broken stuff never has boxes and cables etc. Probably because it's already been to a repair shop. Other than interesting content, your wasting your time trying to make a profit.
