I've done this job on the gasser M54 engine. Interesting that it's an issue on the diesel too. The intake does not need to be removed on the gas engine though, making it easier.
Can you tell me from where I can buy this vacuum tool for the water tank to check mine car. Because last year I had the same problem but I did one miskte to change only the gasket on the oil cooler but not to the oil filter house..Now I steel have problem with small oil leak..

If you're in the US, they're at Harbor Freight. It comes with a variety of attachment tools. I would also suggest the metric Oring kit in case you run into sealing problems like Ollie did. Just replace em!
