Fixing My Viewers' Crackpot Teams 

248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Def Wigglytuff Hard Walling Dragapult is actually crazy. With tera steel it can surprise a Kingambit trying to iron head and hit back with TWave and can deal with Raging Bolt decently. I'm gonna cook up a team but I'd like to see you try to teambuild with it and what direction you go.

216evs in speed + adamant is better than jolly, as a general rule you always want to give boosting mature to your highest base stat unless you need another nature to reach a specific stat number

In this match we’ll be going up against balance. It looks like they’ve brought a ball sucker defensive core, makes sense since it’s been really popular lately. Their offensive core is just the standard sexist monkey core though which struggles to break through my team. Let’s see how this goes.

Offensively appealing, defensively too weak, yea. :/ Stacking same types offensively is often a good idea (dark spam for example) but it can be hard to patch up the holes it creates.

Iron Treads is at 15% usage so I probably won't go out of my way to build it, but Azu is a possibility for sure

I’m no pinkacross, but its one of the few consistent answers to Raging Bolt! Steel Ground is an amazing typing and its speed tier is fantastic, not to mention spin rocks knock spinner and volt, plus its not even locked to a fully physical set which is pretty valuable

Probably because of its steel type. Its also a better gholdengo answer as gholdengo its not immune to its steel type as it is to great tusk fighting type

2 main reasons, speed tier and typing. Typing allows it to check certqin mons like bolt and also helps it spin. With its speed and booster speed, its a reliable rocks setter lead too

Also unlike Tusk, Treads has something of a Sp. Def stat

its by far the best ground type at running both rocks and spin because with access to volt switch it doesnt need coverage for pokemon that like to switch into its moves the way tusk is. ice spinner is still very nice into grounds that can switch into earth power like lando and gliscor, but sometimes the role compression is necessary.

Not the first three, I generally pick teams where I can understand the general vision, are somewhat unique, and (just due to being very busy and not having much time IRL) teams that I happen to spot a quick fix to.

Not a real priority move. It only activates if the opponent uses a priority move and fails otherwise, making it almost useless.

scarf triple axel meow (which I’m pretty sure is the most common set…) still ohkos uninvested ribombee, which feels like what pinkacross was talking about, but I could be wrong

Yes, Scarf Meow sets and Weavile, which naturally outspeeds-- I should have clarified this.

Yes, speed tiers are a big deal in OU too, but given this team has a solid defensive backbone and Dragapult, I'd rather have the power of Adamant.

Wow, first of all, rude. Second of all, ID+Press Garg is on less than 1% of teams, check www.pikalytics.com/pokedex/gen9ou/garganacl for proof. Third, hard Serp and Leaf Storm handles most ID+Press sets. And fourth, you can easily fix this problem by making Alomomola Tera Ghost, thus allowing you to quite easily PP stall Garganacl by utilizing Alomomola Wish + Dragapult switching.

@@pinkacross2042 Apologies for the tone, I fought 2 consecutive gargs before typing this and was very much not a happy camper. I tried serp both times but one guy was Tera flying and the other was Tera dragon, Weavile didn’t do enough even after Tera for anything else I had to kill and I steadily got rolled because of it. I haven’t lost since using the same team, because I got out of the 1100’s on my new account and stopped seeing gargs pretty much entirely on anything but defensive.

It's not always about what's interesting-- I got about 100 team submissions, and a lot of factors go into selection.

banded adamant triple axel nearly ohkos non-invested kyurem, and still 2hkos max hp kyurem in snow (which low kick does not ohko without tera), so it’s not really needed for gambit there’s an entire moltres that can switch in and wisp for free, and weavile can never switch in hard b/c +2 252+ 4-5 fallen sucker punch ohkos weavile so if weavile is not already on the field & locked into low kick, then it’s not useful vs gambit, plus axel does like 35% anyway if weavile wasn’t banded then I could see low kick, but it wants the raw power a lot more

Low kick is CERTAINLY better on HDB, but for CB sets I'd sooner have both Crash and Axel over Low Kick. You can swap it out for one of 'em though, it wouldn't ruin the team, but it would make it less consistent in my opinion.
