SomeGuy finds a rust hole in Finn the Jeep and employs a Chicago Electric 110 flux core to fill the hole left behind. Welding can be an expensive and challenging skill to learn, entry level welders can be an easy way to start gaining experience and working on projects!
If you want to start welding and dont know where to start, projects like these with a welder like this is exactly where you should. This welder only cost me 140 dollars and Ive been putting it to use for five years and have built many awesome (and some ugly) things with it. You can too!

I have the same floorboard holes in my XJ. You got me thinking about buying a cheap tack welder. Perhaps you can prepare a tutorial video on how to use one. I'm too scared to try with no training.

Its really just a leap of faith that I know you can accomplish!! I had no training or friends with any welding experience when I first bought mine. I don’t know if I’m qualified to really educate anybody on in depth welding but I can certainly try.

I built some DYI JCR bumpers with the titanium flux core. Welds came out great. Clean up took as long as the welding though.

I built my roof rack on my jeep with this welder and Flux core can certainly be a nice finished product it just takes a lot of work and patience!! I had to go back over most welds atleast once (Grinder and paint didn’t hurt either)

I definitely have a hole on the driver’s side… I’m very tempted to try this…

Do it! If you’ve never welded it’s a very cheap/easy introduction and if you find out it’s not for you you’re only out 150-200 bucks instead of 1500. I’m making a review of this welder and an intro to welding video rn if that would help!
