Building breaking and when the weather permits buying things for your entertainment. Working on my Jeep XJ called Finn, going skiing and turning lumber into buildings are some of my favorite things.

sigh no its not the key you didnt even do a real test, your welder CREATES a voltage, your battery is 12v, if your welder is a different voltage it will cause a short, sure you might be far enough away that it doesnt do much, but everytime you dont disconnect the battery you take the risk of a short happening, best to just disconnect the battery
That's interesting. So I have to do some welding on a zero turn mower. The exhaust is cracked in a few different places and I need to weld them back. My question is would you pull the battery and pull the fuses from the electrical system?? Or would you remove the whole exhaust system as much as that would be a pain?
Dude, great video. I’ve been thinking the same about all that wasted space great job! By the way, love your video style it screams early years of RU-vid. Lots of character. Great job dude.
I had used PVC tube between an air cooler and the manifold in a supercharged mr2. It started melting traveling over the sierra. Definitely would use something with a higher temp rating.
a friends jeep will not charge the battery after welding the chassis, did not disconnect battery, it's newer jeep with a generator and electric assist battery, still can't figure out whats the problem with it!
Quick feedback before my thoughts on this. One music should be lower level as it should only be for background as it detracts from your narrative. The 80 mil material is a decoupler, while the foam is one layer of sound and thermal insulation. Not sure how another XJ Pioneer might be, but I removed the carpeting and it had the old layer of "felt" type of insulation besides a rubber underlay. Problem is that insulation retains moisture and has caused rust to the bed of a couple of XJ's I've done/doing. The cargo area has been wiped and washed before I applied Herculiner, after I wire wheeled and hit it with a sander to scuff it. I won't be installing the decoupler over the entire interior, but only where I get a "hallow/tinny" sound as there are many places in these vehicles where they are very solid and do not require it in my honest opinion. Yet the foam is a layer of thermal and noise insulation itself, yet carpeting is a major element not to be forgotten. Major noise sources are door seals, exhaust and tires as well. I mention these as I daily drive two different XJ's, yet both are Pioneers. One being a '89 and other a '87. Different exhausts, tires and door seals. Of course we cannot forget our vehicles are aerodynamic as bricks and noise induced the faster we go.
I just bought a set and i'm not impressed with the crimps. I have a hydraulic crimping tool that does a professional hex crimp On all six sides, instead of the smash crimp.
Tbh I'm having major buyer's remorse with my 09 jeep liberty I just bought 😂 the 42RLE transmission is JUNK. Going to try what you've done. Was already going to do the transmission Pan and filter since it's leaking but I'm also going to replace the inflow and outflow sensors on the transmission. The transmission is clunking hard and struggling to shift.
Bro, you're killin me, you cut out some of the stuff I really needed to try and see in detail when you were installing the new linkage... mine's not fitting right and I'm trying to figure out if I'm putting it on in an odd way, but you cut some of that out man... :(
I know this is an old video and I’m sure you figured it out already but there is a snap ring tool designed specifically for that style of snap ring that would have saved you a lot of time.
Getting limp mode as of recently in '14 Jeep Compass 2.0 liter, but zero lights except for squiggly wheels and low tire (likely due to one tire being size too small because I'm cheap and want my monies worth 😂). There's no gear or speed that it happens, and happens once or twice then goes away till next time. Hoping it's a confused tire sensor or TB, after hearing you intro. Lol
My only thought would be if there is a difference in the height between the trans and the body due to TJ/LJ being a body on frame style rather than the XJ's unibody design? I bet a little finageling could be done to make it work but I doubt they suggest you do it.
I havent had any issues from it and I live in the coastal PNW so the jeep has gotten alot of rain. one of the things I looked for when I was placing them was having it not be directly above any major electrical components (the driver side rear fuel injection system is "exposed" by the vent but there is only so much ya can do)
@@SomeGuyOutside yeah I also live in the pnw, I just installed some on my ZJ and I’ve noticed when the jeep is just sitting it’s a good idea to cover the vents, Definitely a great modification tho 👌🏻
My jeep was last smogged in 2017 when Washington state last had smog checks (it passed at that time) we are no longer required to do smog checks. I do not know if it would pass, I have my doubt but that is not based on any science just the fact I built this stuff. GO COUGS!
Going through this now, I ended up buying a Refurb Valve body kit. The Torque spec was the keywords was the one I was looking for. And you said, so yall did great on the vid Tutorials. Working on my 2011 Jeeps Liberty. You Owe Pops a 🍺 🍻 Thanks.
For better results, pour the hardener onto the headliner, apply the fiber glass on top, and then pour some onto the top of the fiber glass, get an air roller, and then roll it out over top of the fiberglass sheet until all the air bubbles are out. This prevents delamintaion in high heat or throughout heat cycles. Learned this when taking a boat building class, makes a world of difference. Great video though! Keep it up!
Weird question but can you tell me the color of your CPS wires from right to left Pig tail facing you ? my jeeps PO cut them and spliced them in directly but the pig tail is universal colors
It was having a very hard time shifting before it started getting stuck in 2nd gear. If you start experiencing the 2nd gear lock then I’d bet that’s what it is!
