My transmission guy yelled at me for putting sealer on my pan gasket once :) He swears by just a cork or rubber gasket dry. Glad you got one leak fixed 👍
Hey buddy, I’m having the speedo cable leak like you. I’ve gone through your videos and can’t get the 100% positive answer as to what fixed the Speedo cable leak. Was it the little tapping of the bullet that fixed the leak?
For some reason I had the same set up for my floor shifter on a 70 cutlass. The moment I put that bracket on I had a leak on the opposite side screws. I also bought a new gasket, still leaking, new pan, still leaking. Can you use gasket sealer around the gasket?
That is interesting. At this point I have tried numerous combinations of gaskets, sealers, pans and still have a leak. Most recently I tried to summit aluminum pan and moroso blue gasket. I must have some other problem idk.
@@cortezharris2485scuff the surface with scitchbrite and alcohol. rtv the cork gasket to the pan. Wait until it sets. Do not rtv the gasket to the Trans. Use a torque wrench the pan in a cross pattern. It will probably leak after a few drives. Re-torque bolts again. Should be dry by then.
I'm working on it lol. I think I need to order a new trans pan. Mine must be tweaked a little or something. I'll make a video about it when I do. I also need to change the distributor gasket. Seems to be leaking oil from there. The steering box seal leaks a little, so does the power steering pump from somewhere. Always something leaking...
@@meridian208 hahaha I changed the rear seal on my trans... fixed that and then of course it started elsewhere. Looks like pan gasket. My trans pan doesn't have a drain plug so I'm not thrilled about changing that. Having some shifting "lag" going into 3rd. Th350 problems smh. My power steering pump was leaking. Tightened up the high pressure side line and it seemed to fix that but when I turn full right or left it starts to squeal. Siiiiggghh... hahah fun tho.
