Good Ol Menards, glad we have 2 in Wichita for competition to HD & Lowe’s. All have their advantages. Kind of think you should have bought an 8’ step ladder for that job!

I think you’re right about the step ladder!

@@farmerpete Overall, a 6’ ladder is more universal than an occasional use 8’.

you and I are about the same age so My Son(43) tells me everytime I get more than 1 foot off the ground....."Remember you are one fall away from the Undertaker" We use to row crop cotton and peanuts......But about 6 years ago My Son was offered an opprotunity to become embedded in the commercial hay business... Overtime the Row crop equipment disappeared. The land was sprigged into a Hybrid Bermuda Grass and as Jackie Gleason would Say " And Away We Go!!!!"

I probably need to be reminded about the one foot off the ground thing! Thanks.

Ive repaired shafts like this too.... use the end bolt and put it in the drill to turn it. Use the bearing ( clamped in a vice) that you get new...to hold the shaft to turn it with the drill... spin it slowly as your grind it. Just like a lathe

Good work on the baler Pete, I usually find myself in the same fix when I have to work on my Vermeer baler.

The two before is to hold the belts up sounds like it might be a good idea

Nice Pete do use twine or plastic wrap?
@farmerpete
@farmerpete Год назад
I use sissal twine on hay for myself, I net wrap anything I plan to sell. Any custom work I do people usually prefer I net wrap.

Hi Don! My better half would agree with you! “You should ask for help!” You are both probably right.

Man yeah Mr Pete, I know you have been doing things like this longer than I have been around....but your ideas are truly genius!!! You can accomplish so much by yourself!! Glad things went pretty smooth other than having to add that extra strap! Love the mobile work bench as well!!! On that subject, do you have videos dedicated to the Ford? I know have I have seen a few about the sides and such but can't remember like an overview video. No worries, I ask way to many questions 🤣🤣🤣 Great job on that mig/shaft rebuild there as well!! Glad you are back being able to bale, at least till the parts come in 😁😁😁 Thank you sir for bringing us along, look forward to seeing what's next!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks Nelson! I’m just used to being an army of one. The F600 has been featured in a number of videos but I don’t think I’ve done a specific overview on it. Briefly, 330 V8, 4speed, 2 speed axle.

Why not just remove the belts ? I think much quicker.
@farmerpete
@farmerpete 2 месяца назад
Removing the belts wouldn't have gained me anything. Working by myself I still needed the cradle to hold the roller anyway.
@JimHerman-o3q
@JimHerman-o3q 2 месяца назад
@@farmerpete Just from what I seen.....and what you say........ the belts were creating problems....since you stated the cradle was to hold the belts up. And at 7:21 Seems your having to fight with the belts to get the roll in. The cradle worked to hold the roll up....but in the time it took to move the belt around you could have removed them. Giving lots more space to work with ease. Im very familiar with these balers...... when working on front and top rolls..... belt removal makes life a lot easier ! However.......Im also familiar with a few neighbors here..... that fight just to remove belts. They cant get the splice cores / rods out. Therefore its the last thing they will consider.......removing belts ! But its only my experience and view.

That was a smart method you used (the cradle) to get the roller in and out. Nice that your could fix it yourself through some welding and grinding. Good job. Enjoyed the video.
