After having read quite a few threads on these coilovers, and talking to an online friend and him showing me pictures of his bearing explaining that his clunk appeared and then disappeared when he changed his bearing.
I decided to change my bearing before it became a problem. Total cost 30$ for two bearings and a little time.
You need to remove the top mount from your coilover, it's just held in with one nut. This repair only works on PILLOWBALL topmounts.

Nooooice video clear with excellent quality! Hah, I had a feeling that joint press tool was going to work real good especially with the big T-handle. I couldn't bash mine out being too afraid I'd mess em up somehow, just ended up buying new ones. I live in the Pacific Northwest so having some sealed bearings would be the best. I started with Godspeed MonoSS and have noticed they are slowly morphing into bc's haha! 8 months later after starting this project and am still ironing out the kinks..... don't laugh too hard but yes, i put coilovers on a 2013 Ford C-max (we only have the Hybrid versions here in the US).

I'll put my car away in a garage this and the next winter to modify it, so i wont see anny salt. But it will se a lot of track use. So i'll see how well the bearings hold from that. Really hope it's not an issue!

@@perfectedpursuit have you looked into the socks for at least the front? Should be able to find some for a decent price and they should also help with salt I imagine. I noticed a huge difference even after becoming lazy and not placing zip ties on both ends. The set I got has elastic on both ends and holds together via I'd say 1cm Velcro strips running the entire length. Could even go nuts and coat with another layer of waterproofing or something hah, really give that salt the middle finger 😂

@@HafroSamurai No i do have those coilover socks, the exact ones you talk about having elastic ends and Velcro the entire leangth of thew coilover. They work great im sure, but salt and water does get everywhere here in Gothenburg, definetly helps though. Will put on some swift springs this winter so i'll see how well they help up!

Is that any special size bearing for this top hat? I buy other brand 6204 but it seems too easy when install to top hat.

No not a special bearing, here you have the actual bearing sizes, check to see if they match! ( d ) INNER DIAMETER: 20 mm ( D ) OUTER DIAMETER: 47 mm ( B ) WIDTH: 14 mm

Do they work for some BC racing BR 154 camry 2019? I have the ones in front that make noise in the bumps

I wouldn't be surprised if they did fit as companies try and make everything as effective as possible during manufacturing. But to be sure you have to dissassemble and take measurements.

They work amazing! No problems what so ever, but who knows if i would have had problems with the OEM bearings. Maybe maybe not.....

was it clunking over every bump or only the large ones?
@perfectedpursuit
@perfectedpursuit Год назад
Im not sure, but i think everywhere. Remember to check the spring so that it is preloaded correctly, also the nuts holding the coilover in place, if all is good it could be problem inside the coilover.

@hah1738 Год назад
@@perfectedpursuit Yea all nuts are to torque spec, have spoke to bc. yet all 4 corners clunk over the larger bumps. preload set to 5mm.
@perfectedpursuit
@perfectedpursuit 11 месяцев назад
@@hah1738 Would be very unlikely that all 4 coilovers are defective, do check to see if any bushings are bad or if annything like controlarms etc are worn out. Sucks to have all 4 corners clunk like that. Unless the bearings are shot ofcourse, how long have you had them on the car?
