Congratulations on the baby. The truck sounds good. It's probably needing some fuel injector cleaner and a tune up. Especially after sitting so long. I'm looking for an old dually for a work truck. I'm hoping that I find one. If not a single rear wheel is just as good. Have a great week.

Look! I’ve had this happen alot with c3500 1991. The remans will lose the nuts holding the pulley causing damage. I had to get a brand new one not a reman. I smeared jb weld on the nut to stay. Some forums say to tack weld the nut.

😂 I actually just had this happen yesterday. I bought a reman alternator and said I’ll tack weld it on Friday. NOPE I came loose after coming off the freeway

Keep an eye on the power steering fluid. If I’m not mistaken the brake booster on that truck is powered by the power steering pump.

I know on my 01 power steering is connected to the brake system using Hydroboost system and when I had a power steering pump issue I actually lost brakes

Yes the hydro boost unit that gives you power assistance on the brake pedal DOES run off the power steering pump for fluid supply! I have a '97 C3500 1 ton crew cab long bed, and I have had issues with the booster unit on my truck. Mine gets daily driven in Houston, Texas area so good brakes and steering are a must! Mine is a 350 Vortec, and has the 4L80E automatic transmission.

How's it tow with the small block? I'm not expecting it to be a power house, but I'm looking at a 95 with a 350 to tow a car trailer on occasion and just curious.

It goes fine for what we do. We don’t row on the highway but it pulls the 15000 lb starter tank around the farm easily

The one tons are built for towing. My '97 5.7 Vortec just hauled close to its own weight in loaded utility trailer and a full load in the bed, to Austin, Texas from Houston, Texas and back, last weekend. Even in the hills it did great, just not great mileage (11 mpg). But the power was there, hauled it around 60-65 MPH. Many years ago Dad and I hauled a big block square body Suburban on a car hauler, with our '90 R2500 square body Burb, TBI 350/TH400/4.10. Did just fine!
