What happened with the Miyoo Mini original is happening with this all over again. The original software is, as usual with miyoo, absolutely atrocious. The community eventually picks up the device (especially with the great current promotions) and suddently the device gets such amazing software options that it becomes a must-buy device. It is now around $30 on aliexpress which is a no-brainer to be honest. Best device for that price for sure, if you don't mind the small screen size

Hey Joey, thank you for posting this video. I downloaded Spruce, and when I get my new 128GB card from Amazon tomorrow, I’ll try to update my A30 using my own games. I actually like the aesthetics and design of the A30, so I hope my exercise in installing new firmware goes without a hitch. Thank you!

Great video. Like most people, I loved the looks of the A30 while being disappointed that they used cut rate hardware. I'm happy that there's now an OS out that makes the most of said hardware. This makes me more apt to buy a Miyoo A30. There's still a 99% chance that I don't; but, that's a whole percentage point more than before I watched this video/tutorial.

I run ra30 on mine and the games dont freeze. I have played a couple ps1 games and tons of super nintendo. I dont think ill switch to spruce until it does something that ra30 cant do. That being said I appreciate the video. Your guides are always easy to follow.

Mine just refused to load GB or FC games....sure enough the crappy stock SD was corrupt within 2 days. This is a lifesaver because overall I like the system as a super portable device I can take anywhere

Did Spruce find a way to increase the screen brightness? Or not possible already at max?

I don't have a brightness issue personally, it's decent.

@@JoeysRetroHandhelds if you have the Anbernic rg28xx try comparing the two panels. That's where other reviewers were getting the complaint the difference is quite big.

I just got one based on the looks alone even after all the bad reviews. Being able to play ps1 games (also some shenmue) on a nes controller is just otherworldly 🤯😂

Eh, I dont know Joey, if I was going to go for this device I might as well go for a 35XXH ... Pay a little more but you're getting way more console as well, and still horizontal and very portable.

I Like the design of the A30 it really really cool but I don't know if I want to tinker around with it to make it work properly it's awesome the community fixes it but I'll skip this one do better Miyoo I love my Miyoo mini it's disappointing they dropped the ball like this smh.

Achievements only work for 5-10 minutes then cuts out and the device has to be restarted.

@@JoeysRetroHandhelds Sounds like you guys have the bug I've been trying to figure out for literal weeks. After X amount of time, the wifi just hangs until a reboot. It will show as connected and show it has an IP, but if you go to the wifi settings, it won't show any other wifi networks available even if you know there are. I sent Miyoo a video of this in action, so hopefully they'll replicate and get a firmware fix rolled out.

If you just turn off the wifi completely there is no lag in closing games and saving and loading. Just treat it as a non wifi unit until it’s fixed by miyoo.
