The housing of the recoil springs on these Jonsered saws, are certainly a different design from others. Been curios about this for a coons age now. Glad I finally come across your video. It was very helpful to me. Good looking out hoss, well done🤔🤙👍😁
First of all, it's pronounced "YAWN-sered." That's how they pronounce it in Sweden. I also understand that no one in America pronounces it that way. Secondly, the Jonsered brand is hardly a "cheap" version of the Huskvarna. I have a 520sp and a 910 that I bought in 1984, they still work fantastic, except the 520 needs a new pull cord. Love the video.
You really made that look so easy! My pull cord gave it up today. It’s original since 1984. My cord is cotton, do you prefer the nylon? The cord pulled through the handle when I tried to start it this afternoon. There was a small metal washer beneath the knot. I pulled the cord out and should have put a clamp on it. I couldn’t thread that cord back through the handle to save my soul. The washer slid off to Narnia. I’ll find another one. You did a super job! Is there any rule of thumb on the length of pull cord. Thank you! 😊
That information about Jonsered is incorrect. They were separate companies that were owned by Electrolux. They went their separate ways and eventually the Jonsered brand went under the Husqvarna umbrella of companies. They are totally different saws, at least when they (jonsered) were under Electrolux. I have my Father's 2054 Turbo. The recoiler just stopped recoiling after all of these years and here I am hoping to figure out how to fix it as it is my only saw. I can't afford to replace it nor would I ever choose to! No parts available for it. I've got two days of firewood left and that's my only heat source. I was hoping to find a hack for diy to fix it!
Good job Pete. I have had to fix my pull cord on my lawn mower and the spring ended up being shoot. But after seeing you reuse the pull cord handle from the other saw, it gave me an idea. I have another motor that someone used the wrong fuel in and it seized up. So I may be able to use that pull cord spring if it is the right size.
Nice repair Pete on the grommet and pull cord. I love all the chainsaws I have. Use every one of them. Hard to beat a Husky and Stihl chainsaw. Have a Blessed Day my Friend!
