Fixing the Sound of my 440i!

In this video, I fix the tone on my BMW 440i. Hang out with me in the garage while I disassemble it. I’m still getting used to filming. Hopefully, I can make a video where an “install” doesn’t end up jumping around so much and feels more like a complete video. Also, I haven’t gotten around to filming some more sound clips. I’ve dialed in the burbles. I’ll try and get another video out soon!
No outro or installation; sadly, filming does add a bit, so I forget about it.

Fitment: Avant Garde M359 19x9et30 19x10et38
Tires: PS4s 235/40 Slight scrub in Reverse on a bump.
245/35 would be the better size for RWD 265/35 R
AWE Catback (Axelback+Midpipe)
Stock downpipe
Most other questions can be answered in my walk around video or other youtube videos.
*Example for rubbing front 235/40 Full lock turning off your driveway. Slight scrub.

Hey bro I noticed you weren’t wearing any sort of PPE! I do want to share that maybe some eye protection at least would go a long way! I know you’re young I’m young too I’m 21 and like yourself own a 440. But I’d like to incur that losing an eye bc of a lil metal flake would not be fun.

What year is the 440i? I have one myself but know next to nothing about cars other than I want it louder. Mine is a 2017. Any links or info appreciated. Cheers homie

Hey mines a 2019! My recommendation would be just starting off with getting a midpipe from somewhere. The AWE can bolt up to the stock muffler. Have the boys over and do a little weekend project. You will need to cut but there are plenty of instructions, But changing out the midpipe IMO is one of the easiest and cheap ways to get some sound!

On my car i deleted both of my resonators and the sound is great! you can also throw in a catless downpipe but you might find it to be too loud. personally i really like it with no burble tune or anything

Is this setup louder than a stock S58 or S55-powered car? I'm considering getting this, but I am afraid of it being too loud. I'm using S58 as a measurement since my friend has a g82 m4c, and I don't want it to be louder than that.

This exhaust is interesting; with a stock downpipe, it seems louder at lower rpms. It gets quieter the higher in the RPMS you go. Along with under full loud, it has a sound of air rushing through the exhaust and sounds more like it’s pushing air than an actual exhaust tone. I would say this isn’t a “loud” exhaust. It’s a good in-between. You can still daily this exhaust without being annoying. That being said as soon as you put a catless downpipe on makes this exhaust too loud.

I want to put an exhaust on my N55 but I am scared of droning. How is it with the AWE?

I would recommend a Dinan or M performance exhaust. My exhaust does drone between 2.7-3.3 Granted you’re never really sitting at those RPMS. But after riding in a Dinan M2 I’d recommend that.
