I think we failed #Savetf2 because we stopped after the first Valve message, I propose that when #FixTF2 starts, we do not stop talking about it daily until the bots are 100% gone. I have over 700 hours in the game, and I am genuinely confused why Valve stopped caring about such a great game
It’s the way Valve is unusually structured unlike other game companies. Employees CHOOSE to work on projects they want and they can team up with others. The main factors are: 1) The MTX revenue in TF2 is nothing compared to CS2 and Dota 2 and employees generally want to work on what brings the most revenue 2) Employees get a yearly audit about what they have done and the revenue they brought to the company, which judges whether they can stay at Valve or be let go. 3) Current new employees want a good work portfolio which they can use to work at other companies for a higher salary. Working on TF2 fixes and minor updates and not being apart of the original team back in 2007 is not appealing. That’s why They are working on Deadlock. 4) this game is too old, as in most employees in their 20s were in elementary and middle school when TF2 was brand new. Plus the coding is a mess and it requires additional learning, which makes it unappealing to work on.

That's not going to do anything. People will stop regardless because many of them aren't as committed as the TF2 community. Stop giving faith to Valve already, they've proven time and time again over the years that they don't care about the game anymore.
I feel very invested in this movement. Down here in South Africa, we have a very isolated tf2 community. With, by my own estimate, roughly 100-150 very active players, we tend to recognise one-another. Our community is pretty tight nit, and we have our "celebrities". I have made lifelong friends on TF2SA, and it would bring me great sadness to see it go. The TF2 community is very important to all of us down here! lets #FIXTF2 !

I feel like i should mention something : This time we will have to be alteast somewhat negative towards the game, we can't keep sugarcoating the message like we did last time, that was what caused Valve to just ignore us and tell us to f_ck off with a Tweet and some bugfixes later. We NEED to be vocal about it and we do not need for the message to be sugarcoated to the point where people dont even know what the protest is for, this is not a happy go lucky reunion where we share our love for the game, this is a protest, and as such, don't sugarcoat the truth, be honest.

Saying how much you love the game instead of criticizing it for it's unplayable state is such a counter-productive thing to do. DO NOT share how much you love the game and how you made many friends because that sends out the WRONG message. The spotlight must be on the fact that the game is flooded with bots and a lack of care given to it. Valve has to see the crap and be forced to look at it instead of covering it with glitter and saying how pretty it is.
Heres a follow up to that and what people should say to people who dont wanna criticise the game. "The mere fact your playing TF2, a 15 year old game, and are even continuing to interact with the community shows you love the game, it practically goes without saying. So now tell us how to fix the game in your honest opinion?"

As weezy said in his video, valve is a big enough company that tf2 isn’t their big source of revenue and they don’t care that much. If we can use something like #ValveDoesntCare it hurts their PR in everything they do, not just tf2. Giving them a bigger problem if they don’t ignore us is the route we need to take.

the original savetf2 was a waste of time circle jerk of "we love this game so much oh dear valve, please fix it would you", it was led by people that had incentives to stay neutral toward valve so its was doomed to fail the only way to make anything happen is to attack valve by making them look as bad as possible, make TF2 an example of what happens to valve games and their micro economies when valve decides to neglect them(CS2 for example could end up like this). this can destabliize the economies of other valve games by making people worried their games could become like tf2

According to the Policy Window theory in political science, for a policy that solves a problem to exist and be passed, in this case, the bot fix, there needs to be three things: The Problem: It has to be well identified (the bots in casual), this part is covered The Politics: There must be willingness to do something about the problem, this is the purpose of the protest The Policy: This is probably the difficult part, as there has to be a solution to the problem planned or availability for the fix: Ideally, a project should be presented to Valve devs on how to fix this issue, if this doesn't exist, then we might get things like the voice chat disabled for F2Ps So I'd think the tf2 content creators community would provide a good contribution by proposing solving options, that way there will be an easier way for valve to maybe consider the fix

I do think having casual queue pop you into community servers is a sort of quick fix that Valve would do. Community servers historically have been quicker with banning hackers and bots.
We already have a policy: fix the anticheat. It's doable. Its possible. There is no bots in OW or Valorant. But there are in tf2. Valve knows what to do and how to. They just don't care.
With #fixtf2 we should not do any sugar coating at all. Valve should feel the protest. Not asking nicely like with #savetf2, because asking nicely never changed anything in world history. Its time to stop meatriding a multi billion dollar company. Be negative and be vocal about it.
I do agree with you but I don't think valve would care unless it was anything to do with legal issues back in the day valve never had a refund policy on Steam until the French government sued them that's the only way I see Team Fortress 2 being fixed is from a fraud case and obviously I don't see that working at all at this point the game is on life support for a major cancer called the baht in the brain the heart and the kidneys I don't think there's anything we can do as valve believe that Team Fortress 2 is nothing more then a tech demo
The issue with FixTF2 is that, we aren't WoW community or Helldivers community. Both communities are bigger than TF2, both communities were more profitable for their perspective companies(seriously, it's WILD how dumb Blizzard was so stalling making classic wow servers) and finally Valve itself is an issue. Valve get most of their revenue from Steam, not TF2 or heck maybe not even CS2. So they don't have a huge monetary insentive to care(as for Helldivers example, they didn't fully won, game still banned in certain places due to no playstation account there) Also I have watched several videos about this topic and y'all don't have plan, this is basically Save TF2 but louder. First of all, why am I not hearing anyone mention CS2? They too have shoddy VAC, they too have bot problem and they're BIGGER than us, if we want to have even a slight chance of success, we HAVE to swallow our pride and work together with CS2 and make them primary speakers, they have more players, they gotta have more unbox so Valve will 100% listen to them more than us(if we specifically talking about VAC being fixed/upgraded). I also heard Left4Dead2 is experiencing somethings ruining their valve servers so I wonder if L4D2 community has same issue as us, if yes we have to get them involved too! We are stronger in numbers, and Valve is gonna be looking more and more guilty if more of the Valve game playerbases speak up and join us. Even then, if we manage to get all Valve fans to work together to #FixVAC I still doubt we can succeed. Hence why I said y'all have no plan cuz you don't also have backup plan. What if we fail, again? Don't you think failure will only sully other players more and turn more players doomers? We should be proactive, not reactive and find plan b and c for our plan A.2. so here's two plans I came up: Plan B can be, as unrealistic as it is, to ask Valve for more autonomy. What's sad is that we literally asked Valve for this in the past and we didn't get it(back before Valve servers weren't a thing and we had quickplay). But this time we can ask even less from them, just ask us to have human moderators from community overlook casual servers, that's it. It's very simple solution that doesn't require Valve to do any work, they can still release their goofy aah crates for profit and we just have mods ban hackers and bots, maybe make it so they only have authority to ban bots idk. Eventually if Valve finally chills out, maybe we can get more concessions from them to just get full autonomy and let community do updates. Lastly, this is the plan c, most realistic plan is... *Bring back quickplay* no seriously, what was the point of Casual? I swear I never found any bizarre servers while using quickplay so, why not do what works? By returning quickplay, we finally gonna revitilize community servers although if they are afraid of p2w servers being recommended, just have that one dev who still works at TF2 occasionally come to office once a month to check for new servers to approve for new quickplay rotation. That's it. Also for any plan to work, especially my two, but even for Vac fix, we need connections, Uncle Dane was in Valve offices, surely he has some connections no? Or maybe someone from CS2 has connections to Valve so we can actually reach them out, maybe ask "yo what do you need to work on TF2?" Maybe if we reach such desperate point... We can crowdfund devs for TF2 either existing one's or hire new ones? At this point I'm desperate man 😢. I really think Vac update might not come or be too little too late before tech advances, hence why I genuinely think the future of TF2 should be in community hands and either we directly moderate casual servers or casual servers get replaced by community servers, either way will be more realistic future for TF2. Also Community tab could be updated so more people try out community servers cuz rn it's so ancient 💀
what if we tie... savetf2 and cs2 into one hashtag or something like that? just consolidating both movements might yield a better results because its TWO games on the line (not like both of the games are equal on the scale but still)

Unironically met an IRL friend off of TF2 in 3rd grade. Joined a local tf2 server hosting 2fort, was playing a bit and heard a familiar voice. "Hey, are you ____?" "Yeah, are you _____?" "Yup!" And that is how I unironically met a friend off the internet who happened to be in the same school a classroom down the hall.

Fully agree! One thing I will point out is that Shounic has made a video saying that even if Valve agreed to fight the bot problem, it is far more difficult than you think. Bots have found a workaround to every single solution people have thought of to prevent them in game. Heck, other billion dollar video game company has had problems with bots since forever, like RuneScape for example since they had bots for more than 20 years. Best solution for idle bots is to abolish the old drop system since it enables free items sold on the market.
The easiest solution to bots is paid moderators who monitor servers and can act quickly to suspend accounts. Beyond that Valve need to implement some kind of sanity check to validate that a new account isn't just a bot account.
i think premium accounts only able to join casual servers like csgo/cs2 prime matchmaking does could work, even if f2ps cant access casual because of the paywall at least it would discourage bot hosters even more because it'll be very expensive for them to execute and it would be a loss if a ban wave against bot accounts activated

6:24 Dustbowl is like cake: too much of it is not good. But small amounts? Hell yeah. It's the most authentic TF2 experience you could have, alongside play any other first release map or Powerhouse
It’s hard to put into words but dust bowl just has a team environment unlike any other map. The choke points force everyone on both teams to be together. It’s satisfying to play this way because other maps deliver a very open and individualized experience
It IS pretty funny that you named the Helldivers 2 fiasco, because Sony, after their announcement of not requiring PSN logins, has then been delisting the game from countries where PSN doesn't exist.
That is literal misinformation. That wasn't Sony, that was Valve, and only as a belated addition that wasn't checked in with AH or Sony. The country list was updated to match Ghost of Tsushima which has the same requirement. Not to mention the restrictons have been being rolled back. You'll just take any excuse to not do anything and keep kissing up to Valve, anyway. Sony buckled, Valve keeps messing up.

Ive been trying for a while to find a way to kill bots and I think I have one way for every class Scout: use bonk to run up to one and spam primary fire while looking at them Soldier: hide behind cover and shoot rockets, unless you're using the original, rockets spawn from the side Pyro: phlog cancelling Demo: shoot over cover and use your pipes' splash damage to get kills Heavy: your high health means you can survive at least 1 sniper shot if its uncharged Engineer: build sentries to kill bots Medic: stock ubercharge Sniper: don't use sniper Spy: same as sniper BTW I will be sharing this to other videos
Im new enough to TF2 ( about 400 hours total playtime) so i dont know anything but the bot crisis that we are experiencing. But i love this game so much and ive made many memories in that short space of time ive been a part of the community. We can do this everyone lets #FixTF2
This is proof that the TF2 community of one of the best. These days, most gaming communities will be born one day and die by the next year. TF2 is old enough to drive and has more dedicated fans than games that get updated.
I hope for TF2 to have a good future one of where cheaters and bots don't plague casual. In Aussie casual it's especially worse since Oceana only makes up a total of 6% of the playerbase for TF2 and I can personally say that I don't remember the last time I had a match in casual and not seen a bot log in. Now's a better time than ever to start up #FIXTF2 as bots will only get worse and more intelligent (i.e saying in chat Noo don't kick me! whenever a vote is placed on them). The best part is that even if Valve's 'new' anticheat doesn't fully work it will still be a huge discouragement for ppl to host bots. I would say the community can still stay civil and peaceful, but we do need to constantly shoving problems at valve's face again and again, for as long as possible, to the point that they wither need to fix TF2, or publicly announce TF2 is dead and ends all development. (the second option will forever stain valve's name). This constant reminder of valve's negligence and problem so they must care, even just for their own popularity and fame. After all, like Lon'qudor said, we have nothing left to lose.

yet again another video without much of a clear aim, you see this is the problem with the last one, 5:40-onward this whole 'share a cool friend you made or a great moment tf2' crap is what caused everything to go down hill last time, as someone who wasn't playing tf2 at all back when savetf2 happened (I quit after meet your match), I COULD NOT DECIPHER WHAT WAS GOING ON! I just assumed everyone's complaining that the game never got any more content after jungle inferno; for the life of me I couldn't figure out what people were so mad about when all the posts were about how "I love tf2! look at this cool clip! save tf2!" this is what that guy Zesty was talking about a few days ago; this whole aimless "uhh share a cool moment guys I guess" is what the problem is: here's THREE effective things you could do off the top of my head that are far far greater than what you're saying here: 1. boycott buying keys 2. stop opening boxes 3. only complain about bots; and nothing else. here's something you really have to understand, valve already KNOWS the potential of tf2, and how much money it COULD make if they bothered to work on it, they've known for years, that's what market analysts are for; they just don't care, it makes a sufficient amount of money (apparently roughly ~10mil USD manually) and that's enough for them; you really want them to feel motivated to fix the game? decrease their annual budget by a mil or two. because they do not care if tf2 could or couldn't make 50 or 60 or a 100 million dollars, that's not how valve works. valve operates in such a way where they make >enough< money for none of the share-holders to start complaining. PS: valve will never shut tf2 down even if it made 0 money. because tf2's market economy is a pillar for their DOTA and CS economies, if TF2 was ever shut down, it would send a giant ripple throughout their other economies and make them seem far less reliable, and possibly cause a crash that is irreversible; not to mention what they've been doing recently with CS2; already seems like it's the beginning of the end for that game too, so if you think boycotting this game by putting a cap on your gambling problems is gonna cause it to be shut down do not worry; worst case scenario you'll stop getting garbage maps and cases every year.
I feel like zesty jesus is the only "big" tf2 youtuber that understands and has the balls to be negative and throw criticism towards valve. EVERY other big content creator is so positive about this game it makes me sick. Damn i miss what this game was before gun mettle update...:(
In the late 2010's, I want to say around the summer of 2019, I was very new to PC gaming. The only thing I had was a laptop that I used for college purposes. It was very low spec, meant to be used only for work, but with no other avenues to play TF2 on, it worked thanks to the games low spec requirements. However, I was not good at the game whatsoever, and while I loved playing MvM, ironic I know, I didn't have the money for Mann Up tickets. I would often just queue for Wave 666 missions to try and learn how the mode worked and try out different types of classes and load outs, eventually falling in love with playing Scout. A few months into this, I ran into a 3 stack that at first I paid no mind to. That was until I noticed that one of them was named Cpt Spitfire, a reference to a TV show that I loved at the time. I began conversing with them in game, enthusiastic about our shared interests. This was how I found out that all three of them also shared it as well. I eventually convinced them all to open a Discord group chat, which is how I got even closer to them. Two of them were German and one was Dutch while I was American. One of the Germans was very hesitant to speak to me, self conscious of their voice and not wanting to seem unpleasant to me, but with enough encouragement I was able to break through to them. He had actually met the Dutch person in a Community Server that ran Slender Fortress. This group had been brought together by shared interests in tf2 and cartoons. It's been five years now since I met them, and while I've mostly lost contact with the Dutchie, I still have him whenever I wish to reach out, and I play with the Germans to this day. The one that was attempting to isolate themselves from me has since become the closest friend I have ever known. It turned out he may have Borderline Personality Disorder, and that without me being here to talk to him and help him vent his thoughts and keep him calm, he might have been in a much worse state of mind. Just this last December he helped me out by funding me in my desires to get a full spec gaming PC, so now I can play more than just tf2 and other low spec games. Even then, I always come back to it, and the three of us occasionally go back to out annual Casual 2Fort, but with the bot crisis being heavy here in America, we often aren't able to play because while their servers in Europe have less trouble, my servers will almost always be bot infected.
You remember when bots could DDOS servers ? It's somewhat of a crime with some hefty penalties in some countries. (US law had up to $100k fines + 3 mo jail time I think) Though they may have waited too long.

It is also worth mentioning that there currently existing a game breaking crash-to-desktop that started existing since 64 bit came out and hasn’t been fixed. Here’s how to do it: 1. Queue for MvM 2. Pick Engineer 3. Pull out your Wrench. Congratulations, you may or may not have crashed your game! This crash is super annoying to someone who frequents a community server that uses the MVM wave system as a base for its custom game mode.

My favorite part of tf2 is being able to join casual and just help the new players by just being kind and teaching them. Watching them learn and them hopefully being happy brongs so much join. #fixtf2

I remeber watching emesis blue and finding out tf2 for the first time and looking at its state,evern tho i am not a eventuran player i as just as shocked how VALVe abandoned the game and left a false promise on its fan base.I have seen games i love fall with their companies not having it the love they devided,but with does i knew i could't do any thing,but if we can get VALVe to make a tweet 2 years ago and hire some one to make bug patches with a short lived unorganided protest,who trully knows what we can do? It won’t work if people are praising the game like last time. The last protest was people jerking off valve and hoping that would work. People need to be negative dickheads for this to work.

Allegedly, theres a chance their new game, deadlock, will be showcased at summer games fest. I think that would be a great chance to make our voices heard loud and clear in an event being viewed live by millions. Even just a few people shouting "fixtf2" or something would make an impact.
I can't help but feel hopeful. Even if it won't work either, at least the community will devise a cohesive plan and work together to complete it. It still would be impressive.

So let me tell you a story once I was playing a match, payload if I remember correctly, anyways all of the players on both teams were acting weird and were kicking people seemingly at random, then suddenly all of blue and red vanish except for one player on both sides, this was before I knew that the new bots existed so imagine my surprise, so I ask the other player “what do we do now?” and he said “fat scout 1 v 1” so we then 1V1’s as fat scout and it was pretty fun, we also tried a couple other things such as 1v1 as trollzer and fat scout vs scout, but then the bots logged back on and kicked me, luckily I got his discord and we have been good friends ever since moral of the story: the bots may try to take the fun out of TF2 but there are other ways to have fun, such as playing spy crab or 1v1ing as fat scout.
3:42 is just giving Valve more reason not to give a shit. If you really wanna do something, stop playing the game, stop buying items or spending money on it in general, let Valve know that it's literally unplayable and heavily botted. They're not gonna do anything so long as it's still making them money, so a peaceful approach is doomed from the start. Now, don't ask me about a better approach, the way I see this going: 1. It'll still make them enough money to completely ignore the entire situation; 2. If it won't be making cash anymore they'll close official servers and stop supporting the game; 3. They'll keep doing nothing, passing seasonal updates and players will gobble it up as usual. I really like TF2, I fucking love it, it's one of my favorite games and I don't want it to die, but a peaceful protest just isn't gonna cut it. It has to be something drastically different from previous attempts or else nothing will change.
The only issue with this approach is that if Valve currently isn't prioritizing this game, and they realize it's making even LESS money than it was before, what incentive would they have to continue support?? This was explained in Weezy's video as well iirc
@@OatZpeople really forget how case quality improved after valve seeing that people stopped buying cases because they selected worst of the worst. If what weezy (the mvm gambler lol) said was true they would shut down the game because of that instead of spending effort to pick better cosmetics.
@@malahay_31 They didn't improve the case quality cause people stopped buying, hell no. They improved it cause people were complaining alot for years about this issue. Stopping buying stuff from valve won't do much, genuinely. Literally most of tf2's economy exists out of tf2 itself, and valve has nothing to do with the money being made there. Stop buying cases is a double edged sword, maybe it works and valve finally listens to our demands, which is unlikely, or, valve simply stops it's support for a dying game.
Don't just boycott tf2. Stop using steam, or at least stop spending money on it. Email valve that you're boycotting them due to the tf2 bot crisis, and don't spend a cent on any valve products until it's fixed. Boycotting tf2 will just get it shut down, boycotting steam will make them care.
My only critique is that saying "Make Casual Playable Again" has a bit of an undesirable political undertone that doesn't sit right with me or (IMO) the message of saving TF2. Instead I'd say we choose a different way to describe that objective, like "Bring Back Playable Casual" or any other similar phrase. Just try to avoid connections with things outside TF2 to not risk someone using the organizing behind this movement for other means,

I havent actually met any friends in tf2 directly, since i got my first pc able to run it about 6 months ago. And as pretty much a "new player" who loves the characters, gameplay and content creators around the game, having my first half year be more bot kicking than actual playing was a daunting experience x3
#FixTF2 I want to fix tf2 because its the only game that EVER made me excited to wake up every day. If I loose this game I'll be so sad. So I must fight, for the preservation of TF2.
