This happened to me out on a vacation in freezing weather and somehow I accidentally fixed it. A year later (Now) it happened while packed with groceries so my wife had to crawl in the back as we slowly drove home. I jiggered with it for an hour and nothing. I found your video, and bang, we’re back in business. Ordering a new latch tonight. Thanks for taking the time to teach!
My FJ Rear Door latch failed this morning, just like yours had. Luckily, I found your video and fixed my issue in seconds. I've lubed the latch and am prepared in case it fails again. Thank you.
Thanks so much 10pm 39 degrees in the dark watched another video showed having to take the door panel off etc. watched your video and 30 seconds of jiggling the latch with the door handle popped right back into place.
Thank you! I had this problem on a -3 degree day with winds up to 60 mph and couldn't figure it out so luckily I had some zip ties with me and just zip tied the door the best I could. When it warmed up the door worked just fine. A few weeks later it happened again at night, cold out and away from home and it was going to be freezing rain then turning to rain soon and I didn't want water to get into the back of my FJ and this video saved the day for me
Ive just had the same experience in the heat of the Arabian Gulf. It happened once before and it seemed to solve itself. This time I had a frustrating day trying all tricks to get it operating. Finally, found your video and fixed it one minute of WD 40 and a thin screwdriver. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you very much for your help. I know it was simple but I can complicate anything. Might be the first time RU-vid is actually work for me… Thank you very much Jon Bohlmann.
