FJ40 Restoration (Episode 21) - New Fuel Injection 

Its a great video! It is a deciding factor for me wanting to install this Howell kit on my "76 FJ40. You make it look easy! Thanks for sharing this and I hope to see the second part of this installation soon.

coming along!! i did that job on my buddies 60 but we used a holly kit. great upgrade. Just throwing it out there that the header your using tend to warp and the gaskets then will leak/blow by/back fire etc. I would consider using a double gasket or one with more squish. Just a thought.

Looks spectacular nice work! I'll use this as a reference as I'm suffering from vapor lock and believe it's caused by underhood temperatures. I plan to insulate the fuel line to prevent this.

Hello from Chile, I saw all the videos of this restoration, about the installation of the efi kit, what is gained with this kit? I imagine that power, the performance of fuel consumption in km/L is improved? (Sorry, I'm from Chile and we use this system) How has the experience been? thank you very much I liked your work

Great video - I've also got a '72 FJ40. I've gone back and forth on all the upgrades out there (P/S, Disk Brakes, headers, fuel injection, diesel swap, etc. etc. etc...) but I think the only upgrades I will do are adding two more under mount fuel tanks and possibly air conditioning. I won't be putting alot of miles on it but will be very remote with it so I need to triple the driving range between re-fuel. You should check into adding an S10 Chevy Blazer tank in front of the rear bumper. They are about 100 dollars - would be interesting to see how you would plumb the filler and route the lines, etc. After watching a bunch of these guys upgrading their rigs, I just scratch my head and ask why not just buy an 1980's or 90's rig - lol. I bought my FJ for the low tech/old school simplicity of it and the 'experience' of driving an old rig. I guess we all are different.

What did you end up using for throttle cable? Any video or pics with final instal?

Those original fuel/brake lines, how come they are so shiny. Bought new onss or polished the old ones? By the way, great work you are doing there my friend.
