FL Studio 21 is INSANE! - New Features

FL Studio 21 will be out soon. What new features can we expect to see in FL Studio version 21? In this video, I'll show you some teasers. FL studio 21 will have improvements to the browser, playlist, automation, mixer etc. There will also be some new plugins. Themes are finally coming, which will be a welcome addition for anyone who miss the old skins in FL Studio. Most importantly, audio clips have been overhauled. It is now much easier to work with audio in FL Studio 21.
Note that FL Studio 21 is currently in BETA. The final version of FL Studio 21 will be somewhat different. What is being shown in this video is from the beta, and the final product will likely change significantly before it's launched. However, at least this video will give you an insight into some of the functionality you can expect to see in FL Studio 21.
FL Studio 21 will be free to download for anyone who already owns a copy since image-line offers lifetime free updates.

From there you can also download the FL Studio 21 beta and test it out for yourself. Just make sure not to save any critical FLP files using this version of FL Studio, as it will become inoperable after a certain time period.

I personally would love to see -a release date announced lmao -comping and overall better and easier recording inside of FL so we wont have to hop on Pro tools or Logic or any other daw with a better recording system -Better "track mode" where we can see the notes of other patterns as ghost notes without having to move to the other pattern (hope that makes sense). Just making it linked easier with the mixer. -Chord detection and played chords display -View ghost notes from a pattern to another when using track mode -Option to delete anything unused and not just audio clips in one click -Making the FL macros accessible with shortcuts -Custom shortcuts with clear indications of conflicts if you try to assign an already assigned shortcut -Everything that the beta versions added already -A more "pro tools/logic pro" way of viewing busses, sends etc... And much more, I basically want everything useful that other daws have that FL doesn't without leaving FL cause I just love FL

It’s taking forever in its beta stage started all the way back in February. 8 betas no release candidates, I have no idea when this thing is coming out but I can tell you all FL studio users are eager for this release. Comp editing, Bend markers on playlist, numerical readouts for peak and RMS on every mixer channel, one on one relation between tracks in playlist and channels in rack and mixer by default reflecting a change (name, color) to all three places at once without the need to do it manually on every new track/channel

1. Not having to hold "Alt" to hear long samples in the Browser. 2. A new Parametric EQ that is more modern and precise similar to FabFilter's Pro-Q 3. 3. A new version of Edison that operates more like Adobe Audition's waveform editor. 4. A simpler and smarter Plugin Manager that knows the difference between a generator and an effect and operates like the FL Studio versions prior to 11.

Just a few thoughts to speed up my personal workflow: Ability to always change track size on zoom/clip size. More options to making samples unique with slice tool and without saving as (should be automatically) And when chopping time based every slice should be unique option. Time stretch in Slicex or Newtone working together. Euclidean mode in step sequencer with individual speed per track. Cancel plugin scan panic button is a bit glitschy sometimes keeps hanging. Burn midi concept to real time seeing notes on the fly. Auto gain compensation on mixer tracks when using inserts. Anyway great DAW and looking forward to FL21... Christmas is around the corner ;)

I am not a FL studio user. However I love the Piano Roll in FL studio which I think is the best piano roll of all the Daws. However that pokey mixer is what always put me off FL studio. It looks so primitive compared to other Daws. I prefer the mixer UI in Cakewalk, Studio One and Cubase. Just my ten cents.

fl piano roll Is the best one ever......but also the workflow is excellent....I use it for everything except for recording live instrument/vocal ....for that I use Logic (which is a beast but to really get the most out of it you need a fck degree).

@@michaelmilano4457 Yes I have always been envious of Fl Studio Piano Roll. I am not the only one. Its a huge strong point of Fl studio. However the mixer is the polar opposite. Everything is real small and basic compared to Cakewalk, Studio One. Logic or Cubase. Definitely the weakest link in FL studio. I need a good mixing environment so it wouldnt suit me.

The ability to add more mixer tracks. The stretch button to be bigger with a light on it to say it's active. To be able to lock the waveform in place so it doesn't move when you double-click it. A single click on a waveform would be quicker. 👍

I want to see easy warp audio and clip gain directly to audio like Ableton. And to be able to easily apply same quantize to loops like how Ableton can easily apply groove to audio loops with the groove pool so all loops have the same groove. An easy way to take screenshots of third party plugins for the plugin picker so you can use the beauty that is the plugin picker. A built in phase correlation meter that you can dock in the top menu. Wasp synth redone for 64 bit. Amps and pedal boards. Ability to scan for 1 VST by path instead of searching through all your VSTs. Ableton link compatibility. Compatibility with the new non VST format (CLAP) by U-He and that other company. Ai MIDI generation in riff machine for true randomness. FL standalone plugins for iOS. Mode to play full sample slice in Slicex regardless of midi note length. Same for sampler. Visualization for modulation in Harmor and Harmless. Updated UI for plugins like GMS and Sakura. Stop auto updating colors in your color pallete when you rename a track or item. Somebody like Andrew Huang headling on RU-vid making beats exclusively with FL or just show some love to you or Curtis King to do more genres or Snail House to be more public.

Rather than having to create a new pattern for the intro, being able to just drag the pattern in the playlist to the left to extend it the other direction would make that much easier. More playlist features and if they have already been done I'm sorry for bringing them up again. It's been a while... I would love to see more features in the playlist area. Rendering /export/saving Wise. Bounce down, mix down, Combined, Select and render layers to new-track, Export selected as. I just spent 3 months training to use FL. I scripted my maschine studio to use with Fl and bought the akai fire I was all set!! Wanted to switch, Been a logic/ableton user for like 20 years(more logic) I loved some of the original features it has but as soon as I compared the sound engine again with logic I went back. Just dropping the samples in.. there is a big (in my ear, it’s actually a small difference )difference in the sound quality. I hope they fixed this. I would have love to use Fl. But sound quality just not the same. Logic is fuller and more leveled I just went back. But I really wante to stay with Fl. Nope couldn’t give up the sound

They must add playlist most features that cubase pro has it. Like pitch editing in playlist. Ara support. Time warp markers in playlist directly. Cubase is the best daw ever. When i decided to buy fl. Fl was my first daw .. but i come to knw the problems that this daw has are major! Like many feature are already not available in this daw .. that cubase pro has it. Like cubase 5 already have many features many years ago ! Why does they dnt have it? I am still thinking to switch to cubase pro now a days.. with bad poor and slow updates that fl has now a days.

You can install multiple different versions of FL Studio on the same device by installing them in parallel. i.e. by manually creating a new folder name for each installation. e.g. 'FL Studio 20.8.4', 'FL Studio 20.9' and so on... They shouldn't really interfere with each other or third-party plugins.

When you run the installer, there is a step where it shows you where it will install to: For example, "Program Files\FL Studio 20". You can override this automatic default, by manually changing this folder name. Two other things: 1. Any 'beta' versions of FL Studio will automatically install into a separate Beta folder to your main installation. So no need to even manually set those, since they automatically install in parallel. 2. If you are concerned about your plugin settings being overwritten, you should make a quick backup of your 'Plugin Database' before any update. If anything does go wrong, you can simply revert back to your previous plugin settings by restoring that folder. The Plugin Database is usually within your operating system's 'Documents' folder, as in: ...\Image-Line\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database

@@Music-tg5is Thank you for having taken the time to give me this elaborate answer, I will give it a try and I will maybe be running a new version of FL Studio soon. The more modern the version of FL Studio is, the easier it gets to not lose ones flow. I noticed it coming from FL Studio 9 to 20. Anyway, thank you again
