Found a couple of gems. Right click on the divisor bar between note and event closes or expand that window. Double right click on a ghost note brings the ghost channel as the selected one. And lastly,middle mouse button + right click opens a menu with all the tools!

And let's not forget that DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK & DRAG = MUTE, also making the muting tool redundant. FL is probably the only DAW that manages to stay intuitive despite being so flexible. :)

I have been using modifier keys for many years and to me, this is now the standard way to use tools in Fl and that's why i almost never change tools. Knowing this makes editing in piano roll and playlist very fast, easy and interesting. Thank you FL studio tricks for this video, learned some more shortucts today.

Yes, these modifier keys for all "other tools" ... Bonus Tip: ... "Right-click + Mouse-wheel" to quickly switch between "Pencil" tool and "Brush tool" without having to search or feel for "P" and "B" on the keyboard.

Right click and hold changes the pencil into the select tool. Soon as you let go of right click it reverts back into the pencil. Right click hold then middle click brings up a tool menu at the same location of the cursor and you can then select any of the tools from there. The menu disappears after a tool selection is made.

I'm using FL Studio now for years. The possibilities seem to be unlimited in this great DAW, and I'm just using not all of them, as I didn't have that knowledge. Although, the pianoroll tools were rather known with me for about 50%. But your tutorials show me really some handy workflow improvements all the time. Thanks mate!

If you have a gaming mouse with extra buttons, I recommend binding the extra buttons to shortcuts. This usually can be done in the mouse software. For example, I have some of the tools mentioned in this video bound, as well as moving forward and backward in the playlist and stopping or starting playback. Enables you to do a lot of work with just one hand which makes the workflow way quicker!

if you have a mouse with more than the standard left, right, middle buttons use a keybinder to map the FL's hot keys. My favorite is press and hold a mouse button to bring up cut, and when i release it switches back to pencil. It's a game changer.

Great video and very valuable information on the tools. I didn't know everything yet so thank you very much! :D Another way to switch tools - if really needed - would be to hold down right click on an empty spot and scroll with the mouse wheel.

I don't have a GR key. How do you mute notes with pencil tool on a regular PC keyboard?

The manual says the "right hand side ALT" key... On my keyboard it says "ALT GR" ... try if it works with the normal ALT key on the right hand side of the space bar if you got one there....
