FL STUDIO | Controlling DMX lights 

The weird artefacts are due to an interpolation setting in the video editor software - We missed this setting on the export! Safe to say the video doesn't really look like that! USB Drivers: www.enttec.com/product/dmx-usb-interfaces/open-dmx-usb/#h-drivers

So glad you've finally highlighted this amazing feature, been using this for about a year now for laser light shows and it's Incredible. It's really nice to be able to create a light show with a similar work flow to creating a piece of music coming from a production background.

0:27 I just want to point out, this is the only time in the video, you say they use 3pin XLR, when it should be DMX. For those that dont know, the difference between an XLR and DMX is the amount of impedance in the cable. Although the cables look the same, do not mix those cables up. That could damage equipment. Although great tutorial and im sure ill be using this soon enough!

Great video and super informative - however is there some sort of motion interpolation going on with the footage? It makes things quite hard to watch, and also can make the interfaces hard to read in motion.

Had this in mind a few years ago! But how we can utilise the midi like painting attributes from midi patterns to dmx channels? The ideea is to aquire build.later pallets library that we can use later for time management.hoow we can do that? How we patch the fixature?.how many fixature we can used it?

does this work on export? Like lets say someone has led lights in there room and play my song, would the lights i program in a track work for other people playing it as a wav. mp3 etc?

Is there any way to export the DMX info as a file that can be read by a computer that doesn’t have FL studio by any chance? Toying with the idea of doing custom lighting for local bands who might not use the same DAW

A while ago I bought a laser effect and an USB DMX controller to do just that, I planned on using a VST...and again you guys read my mind.

That's pretty cool but a plugin where you can load fixture context is pretty much necessary. Take the dimmer/strobe for example. You need to know the right value and then zoom in to hit the range. Some lights have gobo wheels (mostly 8, so roughly 12% range for each). You want the gobo with the stars? Which value was it again? Then you mix in other fixtures and those have completely different ranges for their strobe speed for example. BUT the fact that it works at all is amazing.

A quick question are there plans for native Linux support in the future? A native Linux version of FL would be amazing and a game changer for so many Linux music producers.

Is there a way to ADD more than 31 channels? It maxes out at 31, but I need 41 total (got 5 lights with 7 channels each). Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

To be honest there is many other, more important things that could be added to FL Studio. Functionality of this DAW can be annoying at times in many aspects.

Great tutorial Image-Line but to whom it may concern, I found this choice of music to be highly inappropriate and offensive, especially considering the contents of the video were meant to be educational in nature.I urge you to reconsider the use of this song or similar in future educational videos and to be more mindful of the impact that music choices can have on the audience. Despite the language barrier for some people, please check the lyrics before posting as I find this music very inappropriate for young and sensible viewers.

I wish FL studio would have presets for tuning, such as just intonation, or Pythagoras tuning. The stock instruments are seriously out of tune.
