Even if sometimes it looks like you didn't really enjoy working with the new programm, I enjoyed watching you (struggle) for sure. Keep up the great work :D

You are a lot more capable than I was when I first started using logic. I also couldn't use a MacBook or know music theory. I had to pay a lot of money on one to one lessons how to use Logic, buy some Logic courses whilst learning from trance tutorials. I knew nothing and it was frustrating and nerve racking I will mess something up. 40-50 hrs learning every week, I'm pretty capable now. I'd be in a real state if I had to learn another daw. People often say it doesn't matter what daw you use. It does matter if you don't know how to use it!

But that‘s amazing that you’ve put in the effort. I also took sooo long in the beginning trying to figure out FL studio. I guess I didn‘t completely fail because of that background in FL. But you‘re right, the DAW makes a big difference individually with what you can work the best. There‘s such a huge skill gap between my FL studio and my Logic skills. You‘ll see that in my other videos😅

@@musicbybenedict Everyday I'm learning new things. I've been at it for 4 years now and I still feel like a novice a lot of the time. Daws are a bit like synths for me. I know my way around Sylenth Dune 3 and Serum to some extent but the ones I don't own are bewildering. Lots of new synths out there coming out and I have no plans on getting any of them. They will confuse me and take me away from my creativity making tunes. I'm trying to master the ones I have rather than getting the latest synth that comes out

Yeah it‘s comparable. You have you workflow in you favourite synths. What is your most used synth?

@@musicbybenedict Dune 3 mostly then Serum and Sylenth. I recently bought Omnisphere. It was recommended to me by a trance producer. Im not finding it useful so far.

Sounds good! Omnisphere is more of an allrounder isn’t it? I can‘t imagine it being super useful for House as well… Would you recommend sylenth?

Oh god I felt the struggle with the auto snapping. "Smart snap" my ass. I love Logic and use it primarily but the one thing that pisses me off the most is how garbage the timeline/piano-roll snapping is. Oh and the fact that 32 bit samples (like 30% of my sample library) won't play in the built-in sample browser. Other than that, no complaints. Varispeed is a game-changer too. Will probably never leave Logic because it's the only DAW with global Varispeed.

Yeah that was all new to me and at first really annoying... Sounds interesting, maybe I'll give it another try. But I am also thinking about learning Ableton instead... I'll see

Man I miss how efficient logic workflows are (i use FLStudio and ableton now). I yearn for that flexibility and efficiency.

Is it really that efficient? I‘ve seen it being ised by a friend and it didn‘t seem that erficient to me😅 Maybe it‘s just me

@@musicbybenedict well I think so, but it was two years ago. The “mixer+ plugins always visible”, bussing, and things you can’t do in FL (copy midi to new track in arranger? Get rid of patterns and I’d be happy to go back) that you can in most tools made it a great compromise for me. Also loved their sampler, made a lot of libs. Tbh though in the past two months I haven’t touched FL more than twice. Ableton is more like Logic in a lot of ways and I’m content with it. Edit: hope all is well Benedict :D!

I just came across your video and it’s painful to see some of the trouble you’re having. There’s a help search bar at the top to figure out quantizing in case you get confused and honestly for the automation … there’s something called Touch and Write which is standard in all DAWs which will record any changes you make on any plugin on any daw. And if you want to see the automation you just select a track and press A. Again all of this can be found in the help section.
