FL5 Type R (FBO) with audio clips comparing AWE's Track and Touring exhausts when paired with an Aftermarket Downpipe. In the video I compare cold starts, revs, light and WOT pulls.
Overall, Track edition is much louder and has a deeper note compared to the Touring. Though without the 180 technology, drone can be pretty loud at around 3-4k RPM range and might be too much for most people. My tolerance with drone is pretty high so I really don't mind it at all. Cruising a highway speeds (75 MPH ) with the Track edition isn't that bad as everyone say it is as well.
Filmed with OSMO Pocket 3, audio was captured with Mic 2 and Rode VideoMicro.

I honestly like both. My buddy has touring on his FK8 and it’s by far best CTR I’ve heard.

For the price, you can’t go wrong with AWE, especially since it comes with a front pipe! I decided to keep the Track version installed since I prefer the deeper tone it has compared to the Touring.

@@Nattypisois there a lot or any drone on the highway on yours?
@Nattypiso
@Nattypiso 7 дней назад
@@antiflg530 With an aftermarket catted downpipe, cruising at around 75 mph is surprisingly not that bad with the Track edition (at least in my opinion). It’s there, but with a slight hum. It’s not as intense when accelerating. With the Touring edition, drone is minimal when cruising at highways speeds.

I wonder how many deciibles track vs touring is.
@Nattypiso
@Nattypiso 2 месяца назад
@@philipc3153 I do know that at a standstill, the Track version with stock DP will reach 96 decibels (reving up to the stock limiter at 3500) and possibly reaching over 100 decibels when driving. So Touring will be a little bit below those numbers.

The Touring has a slightly higher pitch when compared to the Track due to its 180 resonator, since it eats up most the deeper frequencies/drone.

Is it true that the Track version has a lot of drone? And if there if so, what mods do you recommend if one was to get track instead of the touring.
@Nattypiso
@Nattypiso 2 месяца назад
@@Ebelon Track version definitely has drone over the Touring, especially since I’m running a aftermarket catted DP. But I prefer the extra loudness honestly and it fits the Type R’s presence, I also don’t mind the drone since I have a high tolerance for it. The loudness and drone is all subjective though when watching videos online, and it’s best to try to ride with someone who has a track and experience it first hand. But overall there is significant drone at around (3-4k rpms). But as a daily driver, I don’t usually drive past that unless I’m driving spiritedly. And are you talking about modifications in general? Or modifications to lessen the drone?
@Ebelon
@Ebelon 2 месяца назад
To lessen drone. I saw you mention TSP down pipe. Wonder if that made any differences on the drone.
@Nattypiso
@Nattypiso 2 месяца назад
@@Ebelon Adding any aftermarket DP will increase the volume and/or drone due to the increased exhaust flow, especially going the catless route. That’s why I opted for catted instead to help suppress the drone, since the track version literally only has one resonator in the mid pipe. With this combo, It’s not too raspy or crazy loud, but still has a bold and deep sound that I like.

Thanks. Very informative. Appreciate the breakdown. I'm trying to do as much research before making modifications.
