A simple flame diffuser for an ultra lightweight backpacking stove is created from a tea infuser, so that one can use low flame to extend the cooking abilities of stoves like this one. An egg is scrambled and cooked to show that there is no scorching, no burning, and no problems with using the flame diffuser as intended with a low flame.
My advice is to always use the lowest gas flow possible that still gets the job done without worrying about the time it takes.
The tea infuser shown was purchased at Target for US$5 and makes two flame diffusers.
WARNING: DO NOT USE HIGH FLAME or HIGH GAS FLOW with this flame diffuser or with this stove in general. One can boil water with a low flame without a flame diffuser given enough time. Gas stoves, fire, and flames are DANGEROUS!
Have you made a flame diffuser that you can show us? Thanks!
