Fellas I would do either of those trades in a heartbeat. To walk out the draft with Tij plus someone like Catton or Linstrom or Eiserman is a home run draft. It would set us up for the future to match them up with Zary and pelletier and coronado and honzek. Pull the trigger Conny please

Ottawa has already announced that their 7th overall pick is not on the table at all. They have Boston's 1st round pick which will most likely be used (if they trade it) for a top 4 right shot RD. They have conceded that they have to try and salvage the Korpisalo situation next year. He did play somewhat better at the end of the season but that isn't a great indicator with him. I think they are hoping the new goalie coach and new development staff can help him. He is out of position a lot and not set on the bad goals that get past him. On the ones he is set for, he does well. They apparently already talked to teams about taking him and nobody wanted him. The 6 mil that Markstrom has for a cap hit is not what they are looking for. Plus, Markstrom is getting up there in age. Their cap situation has been mangled by the previous GM. They really want to sign Shane Pinto and that is not going to be easy to fit in if they don't change their cap hit. Look for Chychrun to be traded for something like a right shot RD or a backup goalie who is 3 mil or under and a mid round pick. Ottawa needs (1) A right shot RD and to trade one of the left shot LDs' (2) Sign or trade for a 2nd or 1st line LW who is a veteran and can play both ways (3) Trade Anton Forsberg somewhere for anything (a bag of pucks at this point) and sign a backup goalie that can take on a higher number of games until they figure out if Korpisalo can be salvaged or traded for a pretty much equal cap hit until the cap goes up again the year after. (4) Figure out after July 1st what Claude Giroux wants to do. If he wants to chase a cup, then they will need another top 6 RW. Since they can't get rid of Korpisalo and their cap is squeezed to death, the starting goalie thing will most likely have to wait. This of course changes somewhat if they decide to trade one of their five 8 million cap per man core. There are 3 that are considered to be untouchable. Thachuck, Sanderson and Stutzle. That leaves Chabot and Norris. Rumors say that they don't want to trade Chabot if they don't have to so that leaves Norris. He will be hard to trade after his 2nd shoulder surgery in 2 years on the same shoulder.

Ok I personally love the senators trade. If we can move markstrom and not trade Van’s 1st and move into the top 10 that’s great. Korpi’s contract sucks but you have to do something big to move into the top 10. The 1st trade I have no idea why we would give up Van’s 1st. I could see the sens or Utah just paying their 1st for Ras straight up. Ras has so much value. Personally cause of his contract I think a playoff team would prefer him though. I could see the stars giving Bourque+ for him.

I would do both trades with the 6th i would take Tijj 7th id take Anton Silayev and with the 9th Carter Yakemchuk or Igor Chernyshov Those are who i would take with those picks if we traded for them i love your channel alot man i went to a flames game when they won the cup in 1989 i was a baby when that happened my folks took me to the game

That Ottawa trade is flaming hot garbage. 🔥 We dealt about $8-9 mil of Sean Monahan's contract and paid what will likely (hopefully) be a mid-round first. The Leafs paid a first to dump about $6 mil of Patrick Marleau's cap hit. There are other examples. If you want a team to take on four years of goaltending that is below league average and $16 mil of cap apace, a high first seems about market value to me. Marky too? Plus another pick? I don't think so. Not to mention that Ottawa's 1st round pick is conditional this year and Marky would have to waive to go to Ottawa.

Getting late firsts are great but you have a lot of late first maybe middle 6 prospects. You need those top 6 guys and some top notch defence. If you can get top end young talent top 10 picks then you do it. Don’t even worry about next season or the season after. This roster is really in need of an overhaul cause they’re not close to playoff contention. Blow it !! Wooooooo

The person who thought CGY was deep enough to trade Andersson isn't seeing the same defense I am. If we trade Razzy and re-sign Kylington, this is our d' as it stands: Weegar, Kylington, Nikita Okhotiuk, Joel Hanley, Brayden Pachal, Denis Gilbert and Daniil Miromanov,. To my eye that is the worst defense in the league...and not by a little.

Trade to New Jersey: Markstrom + defenseman (ie.Hanley) + #29 In exchange for: Allen + Mercer + #10 Trade our #9 and a player or pick (ie.Mangiapane) if need be to jump up to get Iginla Draft a good defenseman (ie. Carter Yakemchuk at #10 Lose: Markstrom/Hanley/Mangiapane/#9/#29 Gain: Allen/Mercer/Iginla/Yakemchuk Even better if we didn’t have to trade up and we still get Iginla.

This year's draft is weak, we need more picks for next year...

Go for Tig in the second round if you can trade up without giving up #9 it would help with rebuild. Tig has had one good year, that is not a great pick for the first round, he did not lead Junior hockey in one category, save your first.

Marstrom to Montreal for 1 round pick

I would try to re-ignite talks with NJ and take Jake Allen, the 10th overall and Holtz for Marky.
