Well, I mean, they're flamboyant, pretty and love to party so that might have something to do with it. In all seriousness, it's probably just a dumb but admittedly funny in a messed up kinda way joke on the part of the creators. This film was clearly _not_ meant to be taken seriously. That said, homosexuality _has_ been observed in flamingos--in that case, they're gay because that's just how they were born (hatched?).
It has a meaning. It was a flim used in some classes for discussion about sexual orientation and identity. Of course, it uses stereotypes - but this was on purpose.
"Hallo, tiger..." That was totally the punchline. Also fun fact: Homosexuality has indeed been observed in real life flamingos. One noteworthy (and adorable) example would be two male flamingos in a zoo who not only formed a mated pair together, but went on to adopt an egg.
I'd argue that it kinda is, but it's funny in a South Park-ish sorta way. It's clearly going for being a crass, screwball comedy so I'm willing to let it slide.
No its not homophobic at all. Imagine it in reverse. Samething all the other flamingos weren't gay and he was. What phobia would that be? Imagine this in real life and you were the only gay person around? Did you not feel like this bird did? Did that make you a heterophobe? No it made you the only gay around. Just like this flamingo happened to be the only hetero bird around. Stop trying to be a victim.
Dafuq just happened, also where is this movie set? I see an Everglades like setting but also Tigers and Flamingos. Also he just walked in on two TIGERS having sex, I assume this is a kids oriented. I then see the end where a stork is about to go full Christian Gre-WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MOVIE
Fun fact: homosexual behavior has been observed in real life flamingos. A mated pair of male flamingos at a zoo became famous when they adopted an abandoned hatchling.
