Looks like the making of an excellent layout . Look forward to see the progression

Brilliant update, I had no idea how much work you had done to the lower level storage areas, must have taken ages! Think you’ve got those lines spot on through the station and the long rakes look great running through, looking forward to seeing your progress, cheers Darrell 😃👍

Thanks Darrell, glad you enjoyed it. It's a real 'iceberg' of a layout - most of it is under the surface! I'm looking forward to spending money on scenery now after two years of buying timber and screws 🤥 Cheers, Rich

Nice to see Stafford being modelled again. I used grew up in Stafford and live there until uni in Birmingham. I now live in Shropshire but still regularly travel back there. I will be interested to see your layout build develops.

@@ScampertonModelRailway Thanks very much. I grew up in Wolverhampton, and still got family down there, plus north Birmingham and Shropshire. I studied in London, and have been in Manchester / Lancs for 20+ years, so the WCML has kind of been a thread throughout my entire life! Cheers, Rich

Brilliant video update, I'm sure it will be an awesome layout when it all comes together. The Hornby kfa I've had the same problem with drailing but solved the issue, and i did the back to backs and made sure curves weren't too tight, and they didn't like curve standard points.

Thanks Gaz. That's interesting - the derailing clip I showed was across three curved points into a straight point - I never made the distinction, but I think you're probably right about them. I might do a quick follow-up section on them next time. Cheers, Rich

@WaltononTrent hey no worries, rich. It's just how I found out testing them myself. If you can manage to avoid the std curve points it be a great option. Im subbed to your channel as well and shared it on my model railway facebook page to.

Great video. To be honest you are better off with the Bachmann intermodal twinsets, had mine for over 23 years & theyre superb wagons. The kinematics on them are of the more proven continental style likes whats on the Bachmann RES vans & so better suited, problem with a lot of models is the the fitting hasnt got any substance behind them & with the weight of stock they do cause issues when being pushed.

Hi, thanks for watching. I completely agree. I filmed a section on the couplers but the whole episode was getting towards one hour long so I chopped it! I'll probably do a quick follow-on section next time. The Bachmanns are more robust but I wanted to run both types of container wagon and their FFA/FGAs are very hard to find now, it seems. Cheers Rich
