Can someone explain why i need different flap settings please? Like is 50% for take off and 100% for landing? Why not 100% all the time? Which is the correct way to use them?
Hey Sir. I sent you a comment Hope how to set up Crow on my Sailplane. Using my FrSky X10s. But I found this Video and your Sailplane is the Same as The one I have. So I understand it more. So sure I do Crow or flip/elevator? Thanks Greg
Was wondering if you may be able to help me out? I'm running a Flysky FS-IA6B receiver with a TX16s transmitter. My FMS T28 has the ailerons and flaps wired with Y cables. How do I get my flaps to go in the same direction? It works for my ailerons but obviously not for my flaps. I will watch the video again, but any help would be appreciated. Also, I can't flip or install the servo any other way without doing some modification.
hi Andrew love your video have been getting so flustered with this radio but this helps heeps i was wondering if you have a vidio on how to set up throttle hold/cut can you please help me out
Hello Andrew. Hope you are well. Can you please explain to me how I know which planes are compatible with the FRSky Taranis Q X7. I'm having trouble understanding which planes can bind to a transmitter and which can't. Regards
Thanks Andrew, I do this (programming) so infrequently that I always need to go back and revisit various youtube videos for a refresher. This combined with the nature of OpenTx having the ability to achieve the same end results in various ways I find it insightful to see different perspectives. If memory serves me correct I believe you may have done a video on programming crow/butterfly as well? If you have, I'll look for it. If you have not this is something I would be interested in seeing your take on?
Hi Andrew, Super vid again. Q. Having set up Plane and Kopilot (Jumper T12 and FS-ia6B), would I use inputs (Output limits are set) and not Mixer screen to set up 3 way switch? I cannot use the KP Aux pins so have plugged servos with Y lead into Receiver Ch6. Thanks.
This may sound like a stupid question, but I have my flaps set up on channel 6 on the receiver, connected via a Y cable, but one flap goes up and the other one goes down. I know I can buy a servo reverser, but do you know if I can copy the Flaps mixer settings from channel 6 on the taranis onto channel 7 and have the flaps plugged into channel 6 and 7 on the receiver, but control both flaps from one 3 way switch. Great video by the way.
Yes that's exactly what you need to do. Or pull out one flap servo and flip it over. To use a Y lead they should both be mounted facing the same direction. But you can plug them separately into 6 and 7 (that's what I usually do) and copy the flap mix from 6 to 7 then reverse the weight of Ch7 in the mixer page or INVert Ch7 in the Output page.
Hi Andrew,,,really interesting vid,, If possible could you do a vid on setting the 3 position switch for flaps on the FlySky FS-i6 2.4G 6CH AFHDS RC Transmitter,,love to seeing all you vids regards from Spain,,
Great stuff. Useful. And I'd just like to add that the clarity of your visuals is very much appreciated. We viewers tend to take such things for granted, but it's not always easy to get it right. Watch a few other RU-vid 'how to' Channels, folks, to see what can go wrong! It's a pleasure to see screen shots that mean something. Yay, Andrew. :-)
Thanks, pushrod tip useful, I noticed the CG pen marks under the wing, do you find the Phoenix 2.4 factory CG to be accurate? Or is it further back? I had to add weight and a larger battery to balance it, before this it measured tail heavy, but flew perfectly, not sure if the added weight was necessary of CG marks on the wing out.
very. adjusting the throws on your radio till your hear them not straining is great info. i wonder if you could still do this if you were using as3x or s.a.f.e. when you have those on you hear nothing but servos straining, or maybe its just that you hear them working, not necessarily straining, per se?
Nice video, thanks! What if you want switch position 1 (half flaps) having weight and offset 10% but for switch position 2 (full flaps) you would like to have weight and offset 5%? Should that be accomplished somehow via curves? I would be grateful if you could explain me the easiest method to have a bit more accurate control for flaps-elevator mix. Right now on half flaps, elevator mix works perfectly when I have weight and offset as big as 25%, but with full flaps my plane dives way too much instead of plane staying level.
@@AndrewNewton Hmm...I couldn't figure out how to do that. I use opentx transmitter and I can only assign switch in general (like SA), but I couldn't assign three switch positions separately. Fortunately I figured out how to do what I want: Instead of changing weight and offset values at all, I created three point custom curve with values 0, 25 and 35. Then on the mixing screen I just chose curve: cstm (custom) and I referred to the curve I had created.
@@Juhar76 same problem i am having.i want elevator mix ONLY on full flaps but it doesnt let me pick a switch position(only general switch).I will play with the curves like u did.driving me nuts..
@@AndrewNewton For sure! I discovered it watching your videos about a year ago and finally took the plunge! I've been flying a scratchbuilt FT tiny trainer and getting better, coming from freestyle fpv multirotors took some getting used to, but fixed wing is a ton of fun. I laser cut a bunch of airfoil templates(clark y and S7037) and want to get into hotwire cutting as well, and Im also trying to figure out how to design a balsa wing to laser cut.
